Nathan Chen

If I may share some memories from Rostelecom, one more breathtaking picture was Nathan skating through crazy amount of poohs on the ice after Yuzuru's performance, all black and cool in this yellow sea.
So many people came to see Yuzuru and his winning.. but I'm happy there was Nathan, wild and free, in his simple black outfit amidst all these glitters, like drop of fresh air.
What I definitely want now is time machine, to go back, to experience it once more, to catch him for a photo( I was too shy to try :) ) and to attend gala.

Thanks for revisiting your fond memories. Even on TV seeing him calm and cool as he skates through the sea of Pooh’s was incredible, and even sweeter when he rose to the challenge. A breath of fresh air indeed!

Strangely I wasn't impressed with last dancer program at all, possibly because we were all too exhausted after two full days of figure skating. But his 1st place was unquestionable.

does anyone have a pic of nathan fully sleeveless other than his insta on May 10 2015?
mildly creepy i know good thing this is an online forum

Nathan's cheeks :luv17::love::o:

judging by the last photo, Nathan's Asian squat is not that good:biggrin:

yes - Nathan's cheeks😍- and haha - maybe he's not squatting his lowest. Nice photos of Nathan with the Special Olympians!

And those photos and expressions are great - and the skeleton top is not looking so bad after all? And of course those black pants😍

I don't know if Nathan is back at Lakewood - but I don't think that rink in those photos is Lakewood.

I found this OLD article from ESPN about Nathan, while I was searching Nathan's vera black pants photos.
"One Giant leap"
haven't read the article yet, maybe I have read it before.
but what really made my cheeks blush:o: and my heart pump
is his S**Y quad lutz here. indeed giant leap. perfect symetry of the entire jumping pass and the S**est outside edge.

ETA, a bonus Vera skeleton and pants, kinda funny.
ETA, It is that ESPN article, it is great to read it again!:o:

One of the photos said Lakewood mutual, idk of that means they’re in Lakewood or not though. It looks like it but I’m not sure. I’m sure given in Cali, he’s training there again though

Dang, no love for Lori in here I guess lol

The top of the boards in the photos with the Special Olympians is blue - and the top of the boards at Lakewood is red. Though that doesn't mean he isn't back at Lakewood - I just don't think those particular photos were taken at Lakewood ?

Amazing images from the ESPN article. And where he revealed the truth about his haircut - though I have since forgiven Vera:

He can grow his hair back come spring. In the meantime, he'll defer to Vera Wang's attention to detail. "She wanted the full package, everything to be very clean, very sharp, since that's what the programs entailed," he says of his curls. "But I just didn't want to mention it and see if it was brought back up again. Hoping that she would forget. But I knew she wouldn't."

This is very Raf:

A protective tone edges into Arutunian's voice. "Everybody now likes Nathan," he says. "Who was liking him before? He now sits in press conferences; he cannot give [individual] interviews because so many people want to talk to him. Who was talking to him two years ago? Who was believing that would happen? I knew.

Nathan and his mom at Nationals:

He acknowledges his accomplishment and his pride. Then Chen unflinchingly describes the moments after he and his mom received the official word from U.S. Figure Skating. They went straight to the sore spot -- the triple axel.

"That was definitely the center of attention: 'That was your one mistake; what can you do to fix it? Why did you make the mistake?'" he says.

Chen elaborates later to ESPN: "She knows that I basically understand what I've already done well; she knows that I don't need a reminder on that. She knows that I need someone who consistently tells me things I need to improve on and makes me a better skater in general."

^ It’s true, reporters in general really don’t care for Juniors. I mean I know Nathan and some others gathered attention within the FS community but like no one really pays attention outside of hardcore fans until you show success in seniors. Then they’ll hype you up and turn on you any moment when you don’t live up to expectations. It’s so aggravating (though expected) when Nathan had his individual SP and ALL the outlets that had been praising him these last 2 years just totally switched their tone on him and were dragging him as some utter failure who can’t handle pressure only to then do a complete 180 the very next day after his historic FS. They always pulled the same crap with Michelle too and she’d always shut them up. That’s why I’m happy he’s not pushed to do more media than he’s contractually obligated to, just give them enough but not too much because they’ll turn on you so quick. I would like him to be protected from that as much as possible.

Haha, finally, positive comment about that lululemon top. He looks really TALL, sharp, dashing in that despite he was very sick, such a different Nathan all of sudden. But didn't really think about the pants before. But understand why some people hate it.

I think he is back at Lakewood.
Nathan wears lululemon?
