Nathan Chen

There have been soooo many outstanding Nemesis performances during SOI.. I found him even more lively, more free and more in tune with the music during the US tour than he looked during Japan SOI. So far this performance from Anaheim takes the cake for me...really a brilliant blend of intensity, lyricism and swag  https://youtu.be/sS_CimOXaIE I’m so happy Nemesis is truly being performed to its utmost potential during this tour before we finally bid it farewell

I love this version. I agree the US versions are more free and have louder cheers which add to the excitement. I will go with this version.

@oatmella@Skatingmusic,

Thanks for the lovely report:love: šŸ’•

Update on one of his Japan shows:

Shoma and Boyang have been added to the cast of The Ice

Hope they all have fun!!!

And clip of Shape of you from last night

BFTE, yes, the white shirt looks way too big on him

Seems that Jackie is experiencing some SOI envy after the Anaheim show, he is retweeting his Hartford show pics:laugh:

With Shoma, Nathan, Boyang, Dmitri, and maybe Kazuki Tomono, The Ice can do a boy band group number.

Another group photo

Haha, hopefully

yyyskate should be very happy to see this group photo, her two boys seems so close in the one. Nathan doesn’t look short. oatmella, I read your post in the other FF

Btw, seems that there is another Japanese interview.

Poor kid, how many interviews he has done lately and how many still to come. Hopefully he would have some peace after school starts and no more questions about majors and coaches:pray:

Hm, if he did in fact leave out the 4T in yesterday's show, then I wonder why? Especially, if he didn't substitute it with a 3T, but a 3Lz...
Just not feeling it that day...? Maybe Raf scolded him for doing quads in an exhibition skate (jk...).
I hope he's not injured from doing the 4T, in a way where he would need to avoid toe-loops...

From the videos I've watched he did 3F, 3Lz, 3T. However the 3T was very wonky, and may have been a failed attempt at 4T.

Do you have a link?

I guess, maybe this interview
http://number.bunshun.jp/articles/-/830747?page=2

He interviewed about new program, furture plan and some thoughts about SOI.

OK, I saw that but just thought it was a translation of an English interview. Apparently the interview was conducted at the Figure Skating in Harlem gala.

Not really any new info. He said it still hadn't sunk in that he's world champion and that doesn't feel like a different person. He intends to train by himself at the rink 30 min from campus. He plans to major in statistics while fulfilling the pre-med requirements. He chose statistics because it's applicable to various fields such business, medicine, and education. He has no concrete plans for next season's programs but artistically wants to try something he has not done before. He says dancing with Ashley is a lot different than the dancing he did in ballet. However, it helps him a lot that Ashley is a great partner.

Nathan really does not look short on the ice! For some reason I was expecting him to look smaller and thinner in person - neither of which he appeared to be.

That said, Vincent definitely looks taller - though not apparent in that group pic.

Nathan’s hair really seems to grow fast - it looks kinda long now, especially on the sides and back. Seeing his fluffy hair and curls in motion was quite greatšŸ˜

His black pants for his solos don’t seem to fit that great? I think I could totally see his underwear in BFTE when his shirt flew up !

There was actually less fangirling than I expected - the ā€˜NATHAN!!!’s were not overwhelming at all - at least not from where I was sitting. I didn’t hear anyone scream, I LOVE YOU NATHAN! haha. The most fangirling/boying I heard was for Adam. For ladies, it seemed that Ashley had the loudest cheers.

A friend of a friend who watched the show yesterday who I don’t think knows much about Nathan - said that he thinks Nathan is a shy person from watching him skate yesterday.

It didn’t look like Nathan was going for a quad at any point during BFTE - but I have to say - in this show setting or maybe I was just too excited - the jumps didn’t seem very important. Though it was super exciting to see Nathan’s quick rotation in the air not too far from us. So happy to see Nemesis step sequence live and his spins were really beautifulšŸ˜. His ARMSšŸ’ž look better in person too and so pretty.

Nathan really has an inner charisma that is so obviousšŸ˜. I said to my friend that I wished that there was more Nathan skating and she replied - It’s Stars on ice, not Nathan on ice!

@bonita yes I was very happy to saw that finale photo, Nathan and Vincent :sad21::sad21::yahoo::o:
@sheetz, yes that is Nathan trying to touch Karen's shoulder.;):love:
@oatmella so happy to read your report, soooo lucky to sit that close to Nathan and especially so close to the stand still ice dance scene with Ash. a little jelly here:biggrin: but as a dedicated fan, you totally deserve it.:luv17:
@skatingmusic. thanks for your repo as well, what did you say to Nathan? about nemesis outings, the most intact choreo/transition wise version is Red shirt Nemesis at salt lake USIC. The best Nemesis over-all probably is at SA, there used to be a very good SA fan-cam but it has been taken off Youtube since. CoR has the best bouncy hair and bouncy shirt(collar), Show versions wise, Anaheim @shine linked is probably the best. but unfortunately, the opening is blurred, you cannot see how the lights shedding on Nathan slowly in the beginning. but could make a fancam SOI outing edit, choosing the best from various fancams

Karen and Nathan dance together is the cutest ever, Thanks to that fan recorded and shared it.:luv17:

We need Nathan on ice, please make that happen. Skating God:pray:

but @oatmella you did not experience the Naaaaathaaaaan screaming is kinda unexpected and unfortunately  You know that is a inseparable part of the Nathan experience:biggrin:
