Nathan is easier to market than most skaters. His age, meteoric rise, outside interests, physical appeal, and hailed a prodigy makes him appealing to sponsors since his age group is the main ad target and he’s already packaged so well. Other than Chloe Kim, the Winter Olympics don’t really have a future star nearly as marketable so sponsors will invest in him for the next four years atleast.

Yes, but the article didn't say whether or not Nathan initiate the talk. It just states Yale is the first to reach out, which reminds me of poor Phil sending email to some Yale persons inquiring some information, but didn't get the response before his first Yale interview was out.

I would die of exhaustion if I had to travel as much as figure skaters do. You’d honestly have to really love living in airports to even think of getting into this sport jeez.
One advantage for Nathan even without winning an individual medal this time is that he’s not reliant on only US for opportunities to make money. He still has his sponsors and likely won’t have any problems getting more in the next 4 years though.

I somehow doubt that it's all that hard to get in touch with a counselor/advisor who could answer some of these questions. If they didn't respond to his emails I bet he could just get on the phone and make a call.

Nathan is an incredibly rare combination of record-breaking athletic achievement, youth, gutsiness, style, down to earth personality, polite and generally well-spoken, innate charisma, ever increasing good looks, amazing hair, s*x appeal, and intelligence. So no wonder he has so many sponsors and I’m sure more to come going into 2022.
And happy that Nathan’s back in SLC - the ‘original home, the OG home’
Nathan is an incredibly rare combination of record-breaking athletic achievement, youth, gutsiness, style, down to earth personality, polite and generally well-spoken, innate charisma, ever increasing good looks, amazing hair, s*x appeal, and intelligence. And that FSU Nathan Yale thread did talk about something like Paul Wylie or some other skater, opted to go Harvard instead of Yale because Yale cannot accommodate his needs at that time. There must be lots of high level things needed to be discussed/worked out I guess. My assumption was Nathan must have some confidence it would be worked out before he puts Yale 2022 in the bio.
TBH, I am kind of lost why we are arguing about this now
Oh, just remembered something important, it is one of the posters from FSU SOI thread who uploaded the cute 2chenz video and she promised future write up of the show when she has time.
ETA: for his foreign language requirement, would he take Chinese or Spanish?

. I think he knows more Chinese that he has shown, just shy to speak - especially for an interview. He said 对不起 in that one interview so so quickly !
This is my assumption, too! I just think when the writer says Yale "reached out" to Nathan that it actually means they did something worth writing about. To me, returning his emails is hardly anything to be impressed by, and definitely not a reason to attend Yale.

No idea - could he possibly test out of the foreign language requirement - though I don't even know what language he learned in high school ?
