Let alone the first generation Chinese American Nathan. it would be very nice and cute to learn Chinese in the future for Nathan. i think Nathan Chen Day in SLC is truly special, it is not just another naming. it is truly about legacy, Many olympics citie's facilities build for the games were eventually deserted without good use in so many Olympic cities around this world. But Nathan's story is such an good example of what Olympics should bring to people, community and cities. Nathan not only trained on the facilities built for the games, also went to the games 15 years later as an Olympian, Nathan's story is truly the definition of legacy of Winter Olympics Games at SLC. I think Nathan is still a little camera shy in front of hometown TV, but seems felt a little more relaxed and think on the spot in later half of that interview. Nathan may wanna take some public speaking classes in Yale. And he shakes/moves his head so much when he was doing interviews
... I don't know a lot about Mr. Zhidong Chen - but I suspect Nathan may have gotten quite a lot of his character traits from him, as well as his looks. 
speaking of language, Nathan learning Chinese, If any language as second language I always suggest to learn Chinese to Native English speakers.1. Chinese is a very distant language to English, thus the Challenge is real
I think their Chinese is pretty good - but they still use quite a lot of English when they speak. Though that is the only Chinese interview I have heard from Karen, perhaps not the best example. Comments from one of Vincent's Chinese interviews on youtube, 'Chinglish at it's best' and another, 'this chinglish is too relatable, vincent? vincent you’re too relatable for a world class athlete, pls stop' Speaking of Karen, her incorporation of Chinese culture, dance in her figure skating, and painting is always appreciated by her Chinese fans. And Karen is wearing a leather jacket in SLC M&G kinda sorta matches to Nathan's now ICONIC jean jacket.
