*my m&g posts are for this Nathan Chen thread only*
Forgot to post this morning, continuing from last -
This is when I asked whether he will entertain the idea of finding a new coach if long distance becomes an issue. He looked confused for a second so I noted the reporters are “concern” with his training especially giving the distance and he smirked (Gold!) and seemed amused. I added, with Yale being on the east coast there are opinions of a new coach on the horizon, perhaps later? He had the “are you serious” look (wish someone captured the moment) and I said, well, there are many interviews floating around and you know (get my brainwave dude!) … He did. His tone became professional when he responded, in short, yes he is going to Yale and they’re working on his training plans, (of what) outsiders believe Raf and he are close and respect one another, most importantly, Raf will be his coach until the end of his professional career. I won’t share more as the career remark said it all. We said something goofy at the end, were glad the lighthearted mood returned

and asked him about training at the new OC rinks

, sure he replied, he’ll let the team decide and looks forward to train with the other guys.
Finally it dawn on us – we forgot to hand him the gift! We quickly handed it over, explaining we know he has enough sponsors for the nice stuff and we can’t afford the expensive gifts either, after giving some thoughts we decided to donate to the organization he follows and enclosed was the card from them. He seemed pleasantly surprise as he said, aww this is very meaningful, thank you for doing this, this is great! As we were handing them the items to sign, I told him I love his SP, it was made for him and him only, one of a kind SP while the FS was a nice meaningful piece, he then looked up and said yeah I am planning my next SP/FS. Of course we immediately asked if he care to share a bit. He said, Shaelyn will be working on one program, not sure if he detected our excitement so he explained that he trusts her choices and the people she works with, we were like Yaas!! I said, aside from yours, she’s been involved in some interesting projects and always finding new and upcoming choreographers, he nodded saying, yes, she understands me and so I’m going to let her decide on a few and will start working on it. He also has two other choreographers in mind for the other program and I’ll stop here. (Note: there was a skater who asked the fan to not share the new music, maybe it’s a personal preference?). After, we took our selfies with them which was fun, let’s just say he’s quite observant. I won’t share the Nathan & Karen moments here due to different cruise lines and the tightly monitored environment, at the same time, I don’t believe in discrediting things to fit my feeling either, that said, people have curiosity in one thing or another so nothing wrong with light chitchats.
Just as we’re bid farewell (finally he can get rid of us haha), someone asked Vincent about 4CC, ah ha! We quickly asked him about it, he said it’ll be nice to come home and compete so close, plus he skipped this year but with Nationals and school, he’ll have to see. It’s not me who didn’t want to leave Nathan alone

Universe, you saw me leaving right? Just as we’re about to head out, a Japanese lady (whom we chatted a bit in line, she’s a long time FS fan from OC as well) at his table asked me to help her take photo LoL, so we waited for her to finish her chat, we looked around and the line was finally coming to an end, they must be tired. She said something to both of them and their reaction was photo-worthy adorable but I’ll be escorted out I took it... She had the Nationals souvenir for them to sign and commented he needs to work on his SS (we stood there like goofballs holding in our laughs) and he smiled saying that’s one of the things he is working on and respectably thanked her. On my way out I said goodbye to his mom and Alice, thanked her and she replied in Chinese (woh, how did she know?), I then ran into my high school teammate who was at the back of the line and probably saw the watch gift story since she was in front of them, haha I wonder how that went down.
Just a want to insert a short bragging segment here

– Adam hugged me because of what we chatted about, Maia loved the Ts I had her signed, Meryl complimented on my high collar sweater and Jason said I was thoughtful for making sure the Japanese lady liked her photos, of course, who wants a bad photo at the m&g? Btw, Alex & Maia will return to compete the season after next, just taking a year off to adventure so no worries

Can’t stop gushing about him, I will stop after this one last sentence - I just love how he sometimes leans his head to the side when he’s happy or agreeing to something.
That’s a wrap.
