Nathan Chen

Sam did hashtag #newprogram and hhh did confirm that he was one of the choreographers that Nathan had mentioned :)

I don't know if Sam worked with Junhwan on that program ?

No. Buttle did that choreo after seeing Jeremy Abbott's similar program in SOI US tour the season before, which was choreographed by Benji Schwimmer.

Based on what some of you shared, he seems to be super busy even in this summer... maybe it’s just me, I hope he doesn’t push himself too hard. Then again, he’s only 19 and these shows do give him good earnings to achieve his goals.

Thanks bonita for sharing the Yale student piece, that could very well be, however, of anyone, he can definitely defy certain odds come his way :)

Cute dad and son moment from SOI. Would totally buy the memorabilia or DVD if they release them.

Super busy this summer and working hard! Maybe Nathan really does have a photographic memory like some have suggested which would make school more manageable :)

I am a bit concerned he won't be able to get enough sleep ...

'I try to get as close to 10 hours of sleep each night, as sleep is the best form of recovery. I go to sleep anywhere between 9:30 and 11 p.m.'

Nathan uploaded the clip to his own IG account, too. He also updated his IG homepage, removing his sponsors and adding Olympian and World Champion.

What is going on with Nathan - removing the sponsors from his instagram profile and posting a story that actually features himself :)

Happy to see video of them working in the studio!

Nathan called Sam 'the coolest'

So, reading all the posts from the past few days… did I get that right, Sam has never done a competitive FS program single-handedly, as the sole choreographer (only exhibition numbers)?

Do you think Sam is doing Nathan’s program entirely on his own, not as a collaboration with someone knowledgeable in FS?
I mean it’s possible we’ve just not heard of any additional people, since this isn’t offical news, just Sam’s social media footage…

But if he is indeed the only one, I don’t understand how this is supposed to work?
Even if he studied up, I can’t imagine he’d have the experience and necessary insight to put together a routine where he explores and utilises steps and transitions in a skilful way, that goes beyond just putting it together „somehow“.

Being a dancer, obviously he can offer a lot in terms of cool looking arm and (especially) upper body moves, but connecting this to the blade work and skating movement (which is what I love so much about the way Shae-Lynn constructed the Nemesis choreo)… I just don’t see it with Sam?

Checking out some of his exhibition numbers seems to confirm that too, lots of poses and doing upper body choreo standing in place…

And regardless of whether Sam is his only choreographer for this program or not, if that practice clip is actual choreo from Nathan’s new program (and not just some general practice of dance moves)… well, it doesn’t look like he’s gonna do much skating during it, if any… so that’s 12 seconds „down the drain“ if you ask me, no matter how nice it may look…

I’m not saying that I won’t enjoy the finished product, but I don’t wanna see Nathan do actual hip hop or contemporary on the ice, where it's not incorporated in an organic way into the skating. :(

(I am super curious about the costume though, one that's gonna fit this style... intriguing )

ETA: Also, here's hoping he won't cut his hair again, because "his haircut needs to match the edgy and straight-lined movements of the choreo"... :disapp: :noshake:
