drive 30min one way to train figure skating daily is a bit too much drive. Especially, the stress itself if Nathan has to drive himself. And in harsh winter... And as a new driver...
I would choose to live closer to the ice rink instead of campus. cos if your choose classes wisely, you may only need to go to campus 4 out of 7 days (even less, if incorporate online courses). but figure skating training at Nathan's level is a daily routine. and you have much more motivation to go to campus. But Nathan wanna experience Residential hall...

Nathan said sth like "fat cow"
mariah said something like "pigs cannot fly" LMFAO
nathan said something like "he is coming, he is here, he has alot of money"
mariah said sth like "he has credit card" LMFAO

This is being a little extreme. They don’t get the harsh winters they used to. Now if he lived in Mass/RI or north I’d be more concerned. The drive isn’t that bad, I’ve done it many times.

I can barely hear!

Nathan to Dima: 'How do you say Good Morning?'
Dima: 'Dobroye utro'
Nathan: 'That's like(?) ... Dobroye utro'
'Dude the only Russian I know - (mentions Raf) - he called ... you know Michal Brezina - he calls his sister a fat cow.'
Mariah: 'When she first came to the rink, he said - I don't know why you're here - pigs can't fly ... He's so mean.'
Nathan: 'Actually he doesn't say (?) that much. He only said it a couple times.'
Mariah: 'Only when he's really mad'
Nathan: 'When he's really mad, yeah'
Mariah: 'And he like pounds the stick as he's saying it'
Dima: Asking about Rafael
Nathan: 'He's coming, he's here - I think. I don't know where. He has our money.'
Mariah: 'He has my credit card.'

ahahahaha this is so true!:laugh2:

I will laugh about the money reference with Raf, but I will not laugh about him referring to Michal's sister, Elishka as "a pig." As much as I love Raf, this is wrong, and really destroys skaters, and caters the unsafe weight and nutrition/eating disorders issue that athletes, (esp young girls) have in the sport. That was just bad for Raf to say  BTW: she is nowhere close to looking like the so-called "pig" that Raf refers to. :palmf:

Can we not talk about Raf and Brezina’s sister thing? I am not quite sure Mariah and Nathan would like to see these. Skaters like Alexei and Tim do read GS or FS

While I agree that it should not be discussed in the way it originally was with people verbatim posting what they (Nathan/Mariah) said in the video and laughing, there is nothing wrong with what I addressed (it being wrong) and any elite skater would agree if they read this.

Anyway, moving along.

Iirc, Yale freshman and sophomore are required to stay in residential colleges unless you are married or over 21 years old.
There are seminars they need to sign up or enroll for each residential colleges, like any other courses. Skfan or any Yale alum please corrects if I am wrong. Together with shopping for classes from the huge catalogue, that is what probably keeps him so busy these days.

And he will turn 21 in 2020...

Does anyone know Nathan skated 4-minute FS at The Ice or only 3 minutes and 30 seconds as at Sun Valley?

I mean, the video with the live made by Alina. This one is off. Does anybody have another link or downloaded it?

(sorry by the double post, I don't know how to edit or delete ***shame on me***)

bonita is correct: Yale students are required to live on campus for their first two years, unless/until they are married or over 21 years old.

However, the residential college seminars are not required; this is a program that allows the colleges to sponsor a limited number of courses, taught by faculty or by experts from outside the university, on subjects not traditionally covered by the standard curriculum or on highly interdisciplinary subjects. (I took one on bioethics, taught by a distinguished scientist on the faculty; other popular topics include creative writing, screenwriting, histories of musical theatre or other pop-culture disciplines...) The seminars are chosen by student committees, and spots in them can be highly competitive. Many students never take one, whether for lack of interest, lack of room in their schedules, or the competition to get into the most popular seminars.

Yes, I am a former elite skater (Senior/International), and training full time and doing a full course load at a top University takes its toll but I'm sure that Nathan can do it. ;)

Now I feel bad complaining about my study when I’m school. Bravo to you all and like mamamiia said, I only wish for his good health as he enters his freshman year.
