What did people think of his SP from GPF compared to SA? I thought this one was good, indeed much better than France in terms of perofrmance, but didn't have the WOW quality it had from SkAm. This program simply has to be skated all out, or else the effect is so much more diminished. And even though the levels were good on paper, I thought his execution of most of the spins were abit sloppy (esp. the change foot camel), and even the steps were quite laboured. I do see a lot of improvement in his jump landings and the 3A is becoming so solid. I guess one step at a time. I just hope he would continue to improve the SP and that the SA performance won't be the best one of this program this season.

I think Nathan tends to feed off the energy of the audience, which is why most of his best performances are in the US and Japan.

I think yesterday’s Caravan was better than at SA.

SA performance was more exuberant - but looked more messy overall, and with lower tech.

I believe we will see a better caravan at nationals. Some quality rest and training with Raf would help tremendously with his energy and confidence, plus the audience factor sheetz mentioned. I kinda understand skfan’s concern now about Caravan as a competition program, and what Kurt Browning said about a risky program, it is so demanding in every way.

So while I agreed with what shine said about the missing wow factor, the spins and steps, I also agree with oatmella Nathan did better last night especially considering the amount of concerns he has on his mind going to the program, the additional quad, the uncertainty of his flip edge calls etc. He stated himself that he had lower expectations going into SkAm, which to me helped to relieve some pressure off him. We can feel his excitement in the k&c area at SkAm, even Raf said something like at least you had fun lol.

I was really disappointed last night and at loss when watching his botched combo, I am still recovering from that shock today , but I want to commend him for sticking to 4f when so many people think it is wise to replace it with 4lz, and he kept that smile on his face till the end after the failed combo, he must be so disappointed and mad about it himself.

Charlie and Adam’s responses to Jackie’s tweet about Nathan ‘s jumps in practice

This guy better be getting B’s or lower at Yale or I’m afraid the whole concept of “fair” will come crashing down, bringing civilization down with it

I'm nervous. I was nervous at idf because his practices weren't great but I'm nervous this week because his practices are too good. :laugh2: Time for more cleaning.

Anyway, Good luck Nathan. Do your best!
