Nathan Chen

It’s page 777! Again, and maybe just for me since I never bother to change the settings back. Still another opportunity to wish Nathan Good Luck!

Good Luck at WTT and next season! :cheer:

Who ever thought we would see the day Nathan did a 3A in a show? I'm so impressed with how quickly he has increased his apparent comfort with the axel.

He did do a few in shows last year, but I want him to incorporate both a 4T and 3A into his show programs. Even Romain does that!

In the craziness and excitement of last week, and the intense focus on Yuzu vs. Nathan - one of my favorite friendships was overlooked: that between Nathan and Shoma.

Their collective smiles could light up any arena:luv17:

Indeed, I love Nathan and Shoma's awkward little friendship. I hope they can communicate more easily in the future because Shoma seems to think his affection is one-sided :drama: It isn't so!!

Summary of interview:
Nathan says that his job at Worlds was simple: to do the best that he could. He's happy with the result and glad he could perform in Japan. They mention that he attends Yale, and that he always thinks about ramen.

The crew take him to Menya Inoichi Hanare, where he orders grilled wagyu with soba noodles. Nathan wants to take a picture because it looks so good, and thinks he'll not have ramen any better than that. After he's done he says, "Gochisousama" which means something like "That was delicious!"

Then he's asked about Hanyu. Nathan says he talks to him on occasion. Hanyu wishes him good luck before a competition, and afterwards he's nice. They really respect one other.

About the 4A, he says he'll leave that Hanyu. But maybe if Hanyu is successful he might try it himself.

They talk about his costumes, and think they look like practice clothing. Nathan says he likes simple, contemporary styles. It's easier to move in them.
