Nathan Chen

He really looks good with this bit of facial hair and a tan:luv17:

Also his new haircut:luv17:

Nathan has such beautiful port de bras :luv17:

He really does, and that's why the hyper-extended elbows bother me so much! :(

(even though he's very cute in that picture)

it's very apparent in Land of All, but it's also noticeable in Caravan and his other numbers. I know you don't consider LoA a masterpiece, but those long held poignant moments would have been better without the hyper-extended elbows. I was taken out of the moment by those elbows.

But yes, his movements are really, really nice. The cozy gifs oatmella linked really make me look forward to seeing Nathan in the show.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, immediately! It's particularly noticeable whenever he's part of a group number and next to other skaters, I mean, just look at Javi or Morgan in that clip...
(and the same is also true for his ability to move like a dancer, I noticed that a lot at SOI this year, whenever I compared him to the others)

Nathan basically dances his programs while incorporating all the necessary skating elements. All the body movements, arm placements, leg/feet positions are deliberate, as one does in dancing. That’s why everything looks so fluid. I read somewhere that he does his programs off ice first. Apparently no other skater does that.

Actually many skaters do that. That's part of the choreography planning and placement.

If you are talking about Daniil's interview I think he just means that Nathan tries to incorporate his own style of dance choreo into his programs when traditionally skating has mostly been about ballet.
