I think he chose IdF because of the sched. He seems to prefer missing the 1st week of classes and I think that falls on the 1st wk after midterms.

IdF seems fine, other than the long break until GPF.

Some positives of him not getting NHK - less travel time (Yale to Sapporo is a long trip) and no fancams/pics allowed there.

I didn't realize it'll be in Sapporo. That's a real pain to get to. Even so he'll have been in Japan so many times this year, and then probably JO, too!

I think IdF will be tough, because of little training and preparation time, what with midterms taking place too in that short break between comps, so not sure he will be in good shape. But I think the long break before gpf (should he qualify) will benefit him, no?

I'm also so happy for him, that he'll get to spend time with Romain ;D.

IdF has a relatively weak field except for Shoma, whose condition is a big question mark at this point. SA has arguably the strongest men's field, although Nathan should still be heavily favored to win.

I think the timing of his GPs may not be ideal, but would work better with school.
