Nathan Chen

If the last two seasons are any indication, Nathan will stick with the temporary costumes that he starts wearing during summer shows until US Nats. ;)

Do you think they will show his new SP in the broadcast or will they pick Next to me? Do we know yet which show will be broadcast?

They will show his SP. Maybe even both. Usually they tape multiple shows and broadcast the highlights.

Even though we might be stuck with the Maitre'd Nathan with a vest another year, Nathan's expressiveness captured in that one photo is quite exquisite, and I can't wait to see the actual broadcast of his performance.

Since the more schticky performances in the dance-offs tend to win, I bet Boyang is probably going to win against Nathan... but I can't wait to see what he's going to do. This type of dance off seems so against his personality, so I'm rather curious to see how he ends up doing.

I was rewatching Nathan's performances from the third of ATS this year, and I think his joy and freedom of movement is really striking now. I've been his fan for YEARS, and I remember being worried as he was going through his slightly awkward shy phase in adolescence, which also happened to be when he was incorporating ALL of the quads into his programs, and wondering if his freedom of movement would ever return. I am glad to see that it is growing by leaps and bounds.

Nathan performed Next To Me at the 7/30 Niigata show.

His dance battle is at today’s show!

From reports it sounds like there are a *lot* of quads being performed by the men in the show. Probably more than any other ice show ever. Nathan himself does 4T in the trio, his solo, and the boys number. He's also does 3A in his SP and at least once he did sbs 3A with Rika for the intro. I also read he did a cantilever for the finale.

ETA: Forgot to mention that Ishikaw-san sold out before the first show even started!

The Ice program has a section where the skaters are asked a set of questions. Fans translated Nathan's answers into Chinese.
