Nathan Chen

My favorite is still Le Corsaire from 2017. That’s the one I’ve rewatched most often but I can’t imagine him doing something similar today. He was younger then and I think he let others make the decisions about music and costumes. His style is his own now.

It just seems like a very Shae thing to do. Nathan had a song in French last season for Montreal, and Mariah had Abba for Stockholm and KD Lang for Montreal. A martial arts program would allow nathan to highlight his lutz 540 kick.
I hadn't even made a link to Montréal. Maybe there was!
It was a song sung by late (and lamented) French singer Charles Aznavour, who shared his Armenian origins with Nathan Chen's coach Artur Arutyunan, and I saw it as a tribute. Charles Aznavour has been hugely popular in France for decades.

I really like Nathan's Land of All program! The music and his interpretation was a special experience compared to some of his other skates.

Jennifer Thomas, the pianist, left a congratulations comment on Nathan‘s five-peat post. She sure is a big FS fan 😆

Mirai was skating to Nemesis

What is you guy's take on this? There was a lot of drama going on the last couple of weeks, with Alice posting etc.
I feel really bad when her first IG story came out. Nathan should be used to all those ludicrous accusations by now. It is very obvious which fandom the majority of the criticism are from. If anything, as he said in that Icetalk podcast, the criticism would only fuel him. I don’t see him over scored in his FS this time. He got two “V” for his spins, and non of his jumps got more than 4 for GOEs.

There are cryings about PCS in the SP, but given how Vincent who skated ahead of him was scored for PCS in his SP, I don’t see it as too much over scoring. Whether Jason was underscored is another thing.

As to the backxel nonsenses, those advocates probably need some education about 3A techniques from Brian Orser.

Nathan was mentioned a couple of times in an interview with Bradie.

First at 17:25 wrt rivalry with Hanyu
Then at 20:50 wrt mentality

Kevin Wu switched out his photo of Nathan with one from practice.

Not just any ol' Utah senator, but Sen. Mitt Romney in particular.

Sen. Romney was President/CEO of the organizing committee for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, which were the Games that helped lead to hometown boy Nathan's skating career.
I imagine that Sen. Romney's letter was extra-meaningful to Nathan for that reason (although the senator did not mention the big connection to the Olympics -- both in general, and specifically re 2002 -- that they have in common).

(Side note [unrelated to Nathan] that Sen. Romney was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012.)
