Nathan Chen

Reposting from other thread in case rumors are true that Nathan is scheduled for US Classic.

Updates re U.S. Classic:

The ISU event page has changed "TBA" location for U.S. Classic to Norwood, Mass.

And the Announcement document for the competition now is posted on the ISU event page.

For those who had commented in this thread that they would like U.S. Classic to take place at SCOB, I am cross-posting the news here from the U.S. Classic event thread.
Caveat that the Announcement document does not make any mention of spectators (one way or the other), as far as I can see.

From his latest interview, it doesn’t sound like he’s leaning towards a classical/Mozart program with “posh movement” this season.

Look out for hip hop Mozart! (Actually not as bad as I thought it would be)

Nathan's talent really suits all kinds of music in my opinion. That said I have a personal preference for classical music.

So true. Maybe he'll do one classical program and one modern one, to showcase his versatility in the Olympic season?
If he is really aiming for something like Mozart hip hop, it's understandable he'd want to polish the presentation to a high level before its debut. It's a bit risky during an Olympic season to not only skate a new program but one whose music selection might (!) cause some raised eyebrows.

BUT... the riskier the program the better to get it out there at least once before a Grand Prix event. I hope it is true he will compete at USIC. Any hope he will be at next week's Glacier Falls?

wait....where is the Mozart hip hop thing coming from?:scratch2: Is that the prevailing rumor now?

Here's where he talks about how he and his choreographer go about choosing music and which styles he feels more comfortable with.
