Mine will arrive later next week. Perhaps a discussion can be held when more people read it or it can be discussed by PM. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The fan club site has a few excerpts from his book as do various ig or tw sites. https://www.facebook.com/groups/911715039655684How is no one commenting on Nathan's book yet??? I found it touching how everyone saw his potential, and did everything they could to help him out along the way. His early figure skating coach putting her foot down and not letting Nathan ever put on speed skates made me laugh. How is it possible for someone to just be so talented that every single coach he encountered wanted him to specialize in that sport? The what ifs boggle the mind... he could easily have been a ballet dancer, a gymnast, a speed skater...
I haven't read up to the actual skate of the 2018 Olympics yet... but the buildup is so painful, as you see Nathan recount his mistakes that he made along the way, and all the emotions and stress that had built up... I also thought his description about his jaunt over to Marina Zoueva for coaching back in the 2016 season to be so fascinating, and the tension that built up between him and Raf. Nathan never blames Raf, but you can clearly see how Raf's style of coaching would be so bewildering to a young Nathan. (Especially how Raf would answer questions with parables that Nathan would have to interpret... lol)
Nathan is clearly very grateful to everyone who's helped him out along the way. It makes me wonder, how many other talents are out there who don't have the resources to succeed?

Yes, there's quads out there this season... lots of them actually, but re-watching this 2021 WC FS just makes me miss Nathan Chen on competitive ice even more.
