D/B should've won.

It's really hard to tell pairs lift levels, though. Mc/B might have had higher level lifts and they definitely had a better twist and pairs spin. The PCS is what really made the difference though -- Mc/B did skate more as a team.

Judging by their interview, M/B seem very surprised they won, as if they know they don't really deserve it! I'm very irritated!

Booooo! Totally outrageous. Denney and Barrett raised the roof, hit everything. I hate the CoP.

Seriously, unless you're well versed in COP values for all the pairs elements, I'd wait to cry foul until you can at least see the protocols.

Welcome to Nationals inflation. An international panel would not have let them break 100 with that flawed skate.

Anyone else irked at Hamilton's raving "WHAT A BEAUTY!" over I/B's last throw jump that she clearly 2-footed. He is so biased towards American skaters.

Actually not. They were still doing a throw 2A at NHK. She hasn't done a 3S throw since 2005. And she's 32. I'm impressed that she did that well with it. And that they tried the 3tw, and did it about as well/poorly as they did when they last did one, which was also 2005. They went for everything they could, and they didn't fall down.

I hope they skate their program perfectly at 4CC's, if they get the 4CC's slot,.

And yeah, Tracy, it was "meant to be" for M/B. They did not skate well in either SP or LP and won. D/B should have won, for sure.

Somebody had their thumb on the scales there.

I have mixed emotions. D/B hit everything and skated with heart, but M/B even with the mistakes never let their performance level down. It was also a more difficult program. There were also certain small touches I saw - Keauna had a bit of a flirtatious moment. Wonder how things would have turned out if this were judge on the old system....

I would have been excited if D/B had won, but then as Scott said their choreography was just too simple. Besides, their step sequence wasn't at the level of top pairs skaters. I have to agree with the judges' placement. Anyway it is so nice to watch skating on TV for a change!

As much as I was pulling for Jeremy and Caydee - they weren't *as* polished, but that being said neither where Keana & Rockne (whom I've felt were overhyped last year and this)

I so wish Brooke and Ben could skate two great programs and win it again... they're in a class all their own when they're on.

I really enjoyed the last pair skaters. so do you think John Baldwin will finally retire? It's just painful to watch him. I love her but.

I agree with you (and Sandra). Too bad they've had to deal with injuries the last two seasons and have Nationals as their first competition. I love their Clair De Lune program.
