McLaughlin/Brubaker (West Side Story)

Split 3twist nice
SBS 3S+2T he does 1T, but otherwise nice
Star lift to one hand to carry
SBS 3T she falls, he steps out
Throw 3S beautiful
SBS spins, major unison problems
Y spiral into BO death spiral with hand change and leg variation
Toe lasso lift to split
Pairs spin nice
They don't look tired at all
Footwork ok, typical slowness of pairs footwork
Throw 3Lo very nice
Lasso lift to one hand, one hand dismount, very nice

Sorry, calbskate.

Yankowsaks/Coughlin

Press? lift (he kind of just picked her up, she was in front of him) to carry, to one hand split, starts rotation
3twist a little crashy
SBS 3T+2T she turns out of 3T, does 1T for second jump
This music is really monotonous
SBS 2A he has a bad takeoff, single, lands on 2-feet
Throw 3S turnout
Lasso lift to one hand, stag position, one hand dismount
Throw 3Lo possible hand down, but otherwise nice
Toe lasso lift to one hand, one hand dismount
Death spiral with hand change, nice
SBS spins very far apart, unison off
Footwork ok, a little faster than Mc/B
Pairs spin travelled
The music had no energy and the program seemed to follow. Better music would have improved it 100 times over.

I like that pair... he has a lot of personality - or did last year.

Watching Inoue & Baldwin, I'm getting the impression that they are skating SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slowly. I feel like falling asleep watching them. They're SO labored, especially him!

Inoue/Baldwin

SBS 3T bad 2-foot, flip-out and possible UR for him
3twist collison on landing
SBS 2A 2A sequence, he steps out of last one
SBS spins unison ok
Throw 3S nice, slight graze of free leg on landing
BO death spiral with hand change, lower than Mc/B's
Lots of slow choreography
Throw 3Lo nice, another slight graze of her free leg on the landing
Toe lasso lift to one hand, one hand dismount
Star pressed from one hand, forward dismount
Paris spin fine
Footwork unison and line off in parts, same lack of speed as everyone else
Lasso lift to stag one hand hip hold
Overall pretty slow and dull.

I feel like that whenever they skate. I love her... but he does absolutely nothing for the team IMHO

109.97 is a good score for so many mistakes. That's just 20 points less than Savchenko / Szolkowy got at Euros.

Is the camera operator drunk? . . . seems to be having an awful lot of difficulty keeping both skaters in the frame. Really annoying!

Welcome to Nationals inflation. An international panel would not have let them break 100 with that flawed skate.

Anyone else irked at Hamilton's raving "WHAT A BEAUTY!" over I/B's last throw jump that she clearly 2-footed. He is so biased towards American skaters.

Denney/Barrett (Spartacus)

Throw 3Twist nice
Dance lift
SBS 3T to 2T sequence, not pretty but completed
Throw 3flip gorgeous
Nice choreography
Lasso lift to one hand to upside down stag position
SBS bracket-bracket 2A nice
FI death spiral with hand change
SBS spins unison good, but slow overall
One handed star lift, flip out dismount
Throw 3Lo again gorgeous
Footwork, the only place where their newness as a pair really shows
Toe lasso to one hand, one hand dismount, position from her a little unpolished
Pair spin ok, some ugly positions
Definitely need some polishing, but Mc/B didn't do throw triples at all their first year and managed to win seniors the next year, so they are very, very promising. Pretty well matched skating and size-wise.

I love them critizing Denney/Barrett for basic choreography. Um... what about Inoue and Baldwin, who had no choreography?

If that doesn't beat M/B, I'm going to be upset. They deserve the gold medal!

ETA: A reputation win for M/B. The judging controversies of 6.0 are still present. *sigh*
