New boots and new fitter needed

I'm looking for a fitter - either on the east coast (Pennsylvania / NJ / NYC) but skater will be moving to Toronto this year, so also there?
Daughter is wearing Jackson Synergy Pros but looking at Edeas. She needs more support but I'm not sure if that's because her current boots are pretty broken down or because she's getting her axel and doubles way more consistently (so lots more jumping). Any suggestions for fitters and / or boots welcome!

I would advise staying with Jackson if they work for her feet.

If the boots are broken down, that's what she needs. A new pair. Not a migration to a different brand. However, there isn't enough information in the OP to really make a reasonable determination. A Pro would be able to advise better, when you talk to them - and after looking at her and her current boots.

Synergy Pro is 75 Rating. Those boots are good for Triples, easily, since IMO Jackson underestimates in their Stiffness Rating system. Axels and Doubles are not a problem for those boots, and I know a few of skaters who wear them and are doing triples. They do seem to be very popular with the ladies.

Changing to Edea runs the risk of rocking the boat, since these boots feel quite different to skate in. Additionally, it may necessitate buying a shorter blade - can depend on how the sizing works out. Sometimes you can get away with reusing a blade (mounted end-to-end if you wear a ##5 size in Edea/Risport/Aura boots - coming from Jackson).

Thank you, this is super helpful. She's HARD on skates, always has been, and has wide feet across the ball but relatively narrow heels. She's been complaining about her Jacksons for a while - she went from Jackson Elles, to Riedells (recommended by a fitter but WAY too narrow!) , back to Jacksons and now the Jackson Synergy. She's complained about her toes getting squished with every pair, even with the last set being semi-custom and having all kinds of adjustments, punchouts, padding - the works. I think with the Pros she even upped the stiffness to the 85, and got the tongue reinforced. She tried on a pair of Edea Chorus in 240D width and said they felt great, but wants either Ice Flys or Pianos. All would need a 1/4" shorter blade -she's on a Coronoation Ace 9 1/4, being told to go to Pattern 99 in 9" with the Edeas. Having watched this over years, I think she's never really been fitted properly for her width because her feet are relatively short - which is why the Edeas in D feel good. I"m not too worried about her adjusting, but I don't want to pay for new boots and new blades for a skate that won't hold up. For all her complaints about the Jacksons, they've been pretty durable even with hard wear!

I've had similar issues with Jackson. In my case, it's the heel that feels too narrow even after going from M to W width (I think the dense heel padding has a lot to do with this). The heel is basically the same between the two widths, as well, so going from M -> W did nothing to alleviate that. Weirdly, if I take blades off the boot, the heel is tolerable... So, it has something to do with the cut of the boot and how it fits when I am on a blade rocker that is disagreeable to me... Always feel fine when trying them in the shop, though. They got me TWICE with this

I do think their sizing is close to flawless - at least for me - when it comes to length, though. Outside of the heel making me want to call 911, the boots fit like full customs. I did try rapid customs, but those didn't work either.

Edea Chorus isn't going to hold up like Jackson Synergy Pro - especially not Pros with 85 Rating. I'd be surprised if they lasted half as long... Someone needs to chime in. I don't want to exaggerate.

I think you'll need - at least - a Concerto to get anywhere approximant to that.

Ehh... This is just thinking out loud, but if I were doing this for myself, I'd probably stay on CorAce and move to Concerto - finessing the finances that way. I got all of my doubles on MK Pros. I'll never hate on those blades for that level.

Or you can get the Chorus and Pattern 99 and just start saving up right now for a move over to the Concerto after she goes through the Chorus. I think I would actually feel unsafe skating in a Chorus coming from Jackson Supremes or any comparable boot (RF1 Elite, Edmonton Special, etc.). The boot uppers would just have such a noticeable disparity in lateral support.

I've never been to Ice Works for anything like that before, though I have skated there before. I can't speak for it.

Frank is pretty legendary in this area.

I think UDel would be my first choice. The guy there is really good, and you don't really have to stick to appointments - though you may have to wait in line. He is out sometimes. If OP needs a schedule I can send to them. I usually text him to get his schedule at the beginning of every month so that I don't have to ask if he'll be there whenever I need to go.

In order to truly help you with boots for her we'd need some info. I can also suggest the best fitter in the area you are asking about and will inbox you on that one.

But anyway need her height/weight, foot type, arches: flat, low, normal, high, very high?

Once I have that info I can help you. I will say generally though that if she fits a Jackson well, Edea is not going to be the way to go for her probable foot type.
