New Harry Potter movie

Has anyone seen the movie ? My husband and I went yesterday and thought it was boring. We were really dissapointed. With all the hype it is getting I thought it would be better. The one thing that is interesting is you get to see these 3 actors age right before your eyes=it's like watching your own child grow up,

I disagree with you... I thought it was very entertaining. The special effects are still amazing! I also like how the main characters keep growing and changing.. I was very satisfied with the fourth movie...

I haven't read the books or seen the other movies... I was talked into seeing the 4th one...

from a film major standpoint it was technically good...

I am not into fantasy though so it was only so so for me... there were several good scenes, and I enjoyed Cedrick... but other than that? *yawn*

I thought the movie was better than the earlier harry potter movies. but the guy who played dumbledore kinda distroyed it...

IMHO, the moview don't begin to capture "what's special" about the Harry Potter books. Yes, they are nice and fun, but they are nothing special. In fact, I rarely like movie versions of books I like (with some notable exceptions such as Ragtime).

On a related note, has anyone seen the Narnia chronicles yet?

I have Ptichka.........I normally agree with you.....books are usually better than the movie.......In the case of "Narnia"......I felt the movie was far superior to the book, bringing to life otherwise dull characters...........42

Mm, I can't get enough of deliciously evil Lucius Malfoy from the Potter films, yum! I like the movies as light entertainment and, yes, I've read all books.

I always try to stay away from comparing the books to the movies. 99 times out of 100, the book will be better. There's no way to fit all the details of a book into a movie. That just makes for a boring drawn-out movie. It is what it is, so I always try to regard the movie version as sheer entertainment.

I really liked the movie. I really liked the 3rd one, too. I thought the filmmakers did a good job of streamlining this massive book. I thought the actors have come into their characters more by injecting a little humor (I really love the Weasley twins). I thought the dragon was really cool, and Ralph Fiennes was a good choice to play the incarnation of evil.

I loved the movie- I saw it twice already. I think it was the best Potter film so far. I loved Viktor Krum (he was so hot), Cedric Diggory was so gorgeous, he looks like an angel. Fred & George are love. <333 I am so happy that they got more screen-time. There wasn't enough Snape. but I was like 'Wooooh' at the Snape and Karkaroff closet scene... oh yeah baby. LOL! ​

I really have liked ALL of the movie installments. There has been something special about all of them. It's great watching these young talented actors grow up infront of our eyes. All of the movies so far are classic entertainment.
