New Job!!!

Exciting news, yesterday I accepted a position to be the assistant director of marketing and development at our symphony! I wasnt really looking for a new job, because I enjoyed the one I have at the paper, but they came looking for me and made me an offer I coudnt refuse (and not in the horses head in the sheets kinda way).

I'll be giving my boss notice tomorrow, which is kinda nerve racking. But I'm very much looking forward to the challenge and the new environment.

Update:

My boss was not excited about me leaving and asked for a day to pull together a counter offer. If he could match what the symphony was offering, I would definately consider it. Drama, i didnt know being a grown up was so difficult.

So my boss did pull together a counter offer, but I am still taking the symphony opportunity. I start the 14th, and I'm pretty nervous. Change isnt my thing.

Congratulations. You mean the SA Symphony?? Back in 2000, I visited a friend in SA, and we attended a concert there. Christopher Wilkins conducted Mahler #9 , not too many symphony orchestras are willing to play an entire Mahler symphony. Is maestro Wilkins stil there?
