Won't it be exciting to see the new programs this season? I am looking forward to seeing Jeff's new programs. I am also looking forward to seeing some of the new Canadian pairs teams.

It's going to be an exciting new season!

After seeing video of it from Japan, I was a bit underwhelmed by Buttle's new LP....hopefully he just needs to grow with it a bit. But yeah, I'm very much looking forward to what's unveiled at Skate America this week and beyond!

I'm wishing that the ISU would update the Skater Bios on the website; this is the time of year when I like to go through them and see what my favorites are going to be skating to this season. But I was on there just two days ago and the info is still from 04-05. For example, Roxana Luca has competed in 2 competitions so far this season but I have no idea what she's skating to. Actually, the whole "Biographies" section could use an overhaul -- They still have entries for Silvia Fontana and Vanessa Gusmeroli, and they've been off the scene for what, 2 seasons now? And when was the last time Eva-Maria Fitze skated singles??

I just loved Tanith and Ben's exhibition program at Marshall's. I hope this is their new Free Dance for the year. It's a Spanish theme, and it's beautiful.

I would imagine Jeff is still refining his program and getting used to it. It takes time to master a new program and his program last year was so superb he will have to work extra hard to match it.

Are you talking about their EX at Campbell's? I believe that is actually the early season version of their FD. I could be wrong though.... but if we're talking about Campbell's, I liked it too - a lot. Once they get it "down" and get more speed and flow (comfort) throughout, I think it will be a great program.

Isn't it AWESOME that the season is FINALLY under way??

A dynamite program for Tanith and Ben. But I am not used to his short hair yet.

Heh hem. As a Dirty Old Lady (NOT a Frumpy Middle Aged Lady) I will say I'm totally cool with Ben's hair cut.

Tell me about it. I got chills when I heard the cheesy ABC coming back from commercials skating music for the first time this season:)

You know it's a skating competition when you see a billion Smucker's commercials!

I was underwhelmed. Too slow, too far apart on the footwork--they need to get the speed up, skate closer together, and skate with more feeling, or the first time they meet the Europeans they're going to be used to mop the floor. Honestly it's worrying, as, Olympics or no, I had high hopes after last season.

JohnnyC,

Sylvia is trying an Olympic year comeback, so her bio should merely be updated, not deleted.

I love Joannie and Cynthia. If marked fairly, Joannie should do very well. A real gem. Here's to a canadian on the Oly podium.

I won't get to see any skating until the Europeans air in January. Thankfully due to Olys they are early this year so I won't have to wait quite so long for my skating fix!! Really looking forward to seeing what Susanna Poykio comes out with this year as well as Carolina Kostner.

I think the mens competition is going to be great, with Lambiel, Joubert and Plushenko all fighting it out and what makes it even more great is that they are three guys with totally different styles and personalities.

Dance - I am anxious to see how the lithuanians do and where they fit in as it will be a really good indicator for the Olympics. I am really torn about them - I love them and their skating and I really want to see them medal, but if they do I have a feeling that it would be at the expense of some-one like the French whom I adore or the Bulgarians whom I also love. Dance will be the hardest for me to watch this season.

Pairs doesn't interest me hugely but I am interested to see what Totmianina and Marinin come up with and for the last couple of seasons I have really enjoyed their skating!
