On Site Reports @ Worlds 2016

Getting in later this afternoon for men's FS and ladies FS tomorrow night, so excited!! My second time at a skating event after 2014 Nationals at the TD Garden and I would love to meet some skaters/past skaters outside of the competition.

Does anyone have any advice about where to go/when? I don't have a full event pass so I can't attend practices. Should I stop by the hotel (which ones? Marriott Copley Place?) and hang out in the lobby? I have most of Saturday free, should I just walk around outside the arena/in the surrounding area hoping to run into someone? For the competition itself, would it help to get there early and hang out in the concourse area? Do some skaters come out after they're done skating? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

They walk around the rink. I just past Mervin Tran! Yesterday he was laying on the grass in front of the arena! Pass Hongbo Zhao this morning in the hall as well as Paul Wylie. Hanging around the hotel is another way.

They definitely do walk around. Even though they have a separate section for skaters to get things like food and drinks. Most of the time, their friends and family have to go the regular food areas with the public. This is usually when you see the skaters looking the most casual. The younger skaters are often with their Parents and the older skaters are with friends or BF's and GF's.

Sat next to Pogorilaya for most of the Pairs short, I was so distracted for most of the comp! :drama:

Just met miki ando outside the main entrance of the Td garden before the men's FS! She was so nice and beautiful. I got a picture and an autograph :)

I saw her there too! Actually I walked past her twice. I didn't stop, she was being swamped at the time.

Thankfully I found her when others hadn't noticed her yet... Otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered her. But she was very gracious! A flood of people came up to her right as I left though, so I lucked out :)

Don't know why, but I just strayed into this thread. And I saw this:

I HATE YOU!!!!

You were the one person that knew that Anna Pogo has been my main skating crush for the guts of the past year.

Now you're going places with her!

And I thought you were my friend! :sad21:

Seriously, though, you are one lucky guy! Oh, what I would give to have been in your shoes (or, should that be, "in your seat"? ) I am so jealous of you.

And I don't blame you one bit for getting distracted by her. She is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Congratulations

Marriott Copley Place. :)

Sabinfire, Cleopatra20042004 and I stopped there briefly last night, it was SOOOO crowded. Great if you want to see skaters, not so great if you wanted a night cap, so we went to the bar across the street and another one that was close by.

I did manage to see Alexei Urmanov, Ashley Cain, Alexei Krasnozhon, Ivan Righini and Igor Shpilband before we went out.

Thanks Mrs P for the reports. Is Alexei Urmanov still as handsome as ever? Could not resist asking :o:. Glad GSers are enjoying Worlds 2016:hap10:.

Uhm what? The Venus reincarnation (all of the Hollywood overhyped beauties can go home) sitting next to you with a white flower in her gorgeous hair? I nearly faint just by thinking of that. What did you sacrifice to the skating god?

Anna on Instagram....:o: I have a girlcrush on a girl that was born in 1998....shoot me now.

Loved to hear about Miki. She seems great.
