Pairs long

Qing PANG / Jian TONG

Not that good a skate for them, gorgeous program, they really feel the music, technically one of their weaker efforts though.

I kinda diasgree, while they have improved a lot since they won the world title, I am not feeling this program. It is massive throws and stroking across the ice. Paired with unclean execution, it does not do anything for me.
Now I compare Bazarova and Pang, and comparison is not favorable for Pang. The way Bazarova holds her positions and overall attitude and posture are so superior, it is not even funny.
Hoping for Savchenko to kick some *** in Sweden or some HUGE upset.

not the best skate my pang and tong. the PC scores should push them into first unless Dube and Davidson are perfect.

Very much so. Poor things though, in their defense, really didn't have the time to practice and recover from jet lag like the other pairs did.

Not giving them an excuse for a poor performance, but the others did have the advantage of being there a couple of days ahead of time.

Buy they had same problems at Chinese nationals where they were beat by ZHANGS.

Jessica DUBE / Bryce DAVISON

double twist only looked like- clean
triple toe sequence- clean and nice
overhead lift- good speed, very nice
throw triple salchow-clean and nice
back inside death spiral- very nice, her head was touching the ice
side by side triple salchows- she doubled hers
another overhead lift- nice, but no changes in position, might be lower level
side by side spins- nice, good unision
throw triple loop- she was leaning forward, first put her hands down, then fell
spiral sequence- nice
straight line footwork- slow, moved well to the music
star lift-nice
combination pair spin-change directions in the middle, nice

The program started strong but started to fade as it went I think. They look all that happy.

funny i thought pang and tong were going to be given the gold here. I was thinking that they are by far the best at this competition. goes to show you that predictions are often wrong!

I think more importnat in this early stage of the season is scoring rather then placing. It appears that judges are open to place anyone who saktes better above P/T. Besides, I am feeling rocky season for P/T. It is getting really intriguing as S/S and the two Russian pairs have lots of room left. Obviously nobody could deliver at this competiont but B/L beat them with TCS.
P.S" Well, D/D did it, with all those mistakes.

After reading that D/D had problems I expected them to be second — possibly even third, since people seemed very impressed with the young Russians. Needless to say, as a D/D fan, I'm thrilled with their win. I hope they can build on this performance and clean some things up as the season goes so they are truly spectacular.

Dube/Davison were even placed better then Pang/Tong on the PCS. It is amazing how much higher the judges scored Dube/
Davison on the PC categories for their long then their short. They must really like their long program.

Dube/Davison PC categories in the short:

6.35 6.15 6.45 6.45 6.50

Dube/Davison PC categories in the long:

7.05 6.80 6.95 7.10 7.15

WOW! No one saw this result coming . . . GREAT job for the Canadians. They are a terrific couple and hopefully this bodes well for their future! :)
