Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

It is amazing how Plushenko still looks the same, still skates the same after four years. I she working with Tatianna now or is she just part of the cheering squad?

On the music, I just don't feel that he can skate to the complex subtilties and emotions of Choplin.
"The team which wins, not should be changed!" :p

Why not? He is Slavs, as well as Chopin, and no one can better perform the "Slavic" music, as they themselves :agree:
Besides, what could be more difficult, than performing "ballet movements" of Nijinsky? ;)

Plushenko in Novogorsk_Test Skate _Lp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cohdiq-GW-g

... translation...

Evgeni Plushenko is included in the list of candidates for the national team of Russia... This information appeared on the official site of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia. Second day in a row, on the "control skate" in Novogorsk, Plushenko shows the upper class....

Two quadruple toe loop, two triple axel's, and the most difficult step sequences. Long program, which showed today Evgeni Plushenko - is on the highest technical level. But even this is not important. Performance of Plushenko - no amount of speed and height of the jumps. His dance - a little drama, four-minute spectacle, staged by choreographer David Avdysh, to music Edvin Marton. And with this performance, figure skater formally declares: he returned to the amateur sport, and will participate in the Olympic Games 2010 in Vancouver.

Evgeni Plushenko: "Missing me sport, the adrenaline, this fantastic atmosphere ... I miss it feeling, when you go on the ice and look into the eyes of judges and viewers, you feel pleasure.... and not leaves you from there."

Alexei Mishin: "I am completely devoid of such euphoria over his return. I will note that Evgeni Plushenko is return in the sport after ending one competition."

"Yes, age is not the same" - jokes in training, 26-year-old Plushenko. After he won the Olympics in Turin in 2006 and said goodbye to a sport, was a whole life, for which Plushenko had became showman - the draft of the "1" channel "Stars on Ice", win with Dima Bilan Eurovision, and even elected as deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg. With the return to regular training back a bit forgotten sports passion, and endless pains in the joints - the consequences of multiple injuries.

Evgeni Plushenko: "That was sick back, then had a sore knee, one knee, then the second knee, the foot, the achilles... Continuing to skate with painkillers. Here I am talking to you, but me a terrible burning feet. Because I was rubbed them with "nikoflex" that hard, that they really burn.

But on the cold ice, on burning feet unthinkable. The music of Chopin, arranged by violinist Edvin Marton, Plushenko presented to the trainers his short program.

Valentin Piseev, president of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia: "He showed - a worthy program. It is skating, which indicates the fact, that Evgeni might well compete for medals, on very highest level."

Tatiana Tarasova: "The most important thing is that him is not health failed, his ligaments, his muscles. Because his head is very strong, and very light."

In the Figure Skating Federation did not conceal the joy. After all, before returning Plushenko, chance to take top places in the men's figure skating at the Olympics in 2010 were very small. Only hope for gold in Ice Dancing, and possibly silver and bronze in Pairs skating. Today, much more optimistic predictions: despite the effects of injuries, in Plushenko they believe unconditionally. He's a real fighter, say coaches.
And for the "esprit de corps", he fought in early childhood, practically with those who thought that figure skating - a sport for girls.

Evgeny Plushenko, three-time world champion, Olympic champion in 2006 in figure skating: "Macho-man always engaged with football, or hockey, or karate, martial arts... but my mother had given me to skating. Who is weaker, that and gets. I am bad "fight" with hands, but with legs very well."

They say: after Olympic gold medals, in the amateur sport's, back either crazy, or very strong people. Friends of Plushenko's say that he is suitable for both: the Champion came back, to become a Champion.

shows Kawaguchi/Smirnov, Leonova and Plush, Moskvina speaks

http://www.allsportinfo.ru/index.php?id=31338

Yevgeny Plushenko performed two quadruple jumps, a triple axel, and generally showed the entire program - not mock, not piecemeal, but completely, «on» and «to»
---
do not know what will happen next, but at the moment is clear: Evgeni Plushenko really hoping to take the Olympic Games - said Valeriy Artyukhov. - Are visible and work, and desire, there is a positive dynamic training. Eugene, in a good sense of the word, «wound up» and ready to storm the summit. Showed a short program to music by Chopin, but it seemed to me, in this setting with a coach, they are still looking for - perhaps something will change, revise. At прокатах attended by all the leading specialists of our federation - including those who will work at the Olympics in Vancouver. All agreed that the two paths in the program deserve the highest level of complexity, and hardly anyone from the skaters can now obtain the estimate above.
---
It added, and Yevgeny in Lp(?). Skating to the music of Edwin Marton turned very unusual. It is difficult to explain - skater and the coach departed from the conventional pattern, did something new, for nothing like it. There are some very interesting moments. Eugene performed two quadruple jumps, a triple axel, and generally showed the entire program - not mock, not piecemeal, but completely, «on» and «to». For a man who for three years shall not act in the sphere of sports, perform complex program, even with the defects and Blot - this is a class indicator and objectives. Overall impression of skate Evgeni Plushenko - very positive ».

Valery Artukhov also shared his impressions of Russia's other skate skater. «Perhaps the most favorably looked Sergei Voronov. Very interesting program, he performed at a reasonably good level. Not pleased Andrei Lutai - made a lot of mistakes, errors. Alas, while he is not in great shape. The same can be said about Katarina Gerboldt, it seemed unimportant. Let's see what will the next round rentals. Liked Alena Leonova - showed interesting, challenging productions, shows that she likes to work. Of course, while damp, although the long program she performed purely cascade «three plus three». But the main thing - looks », - Valery concluded Artyukhov.

Irina:

I watched warming up Zhenya's and his rivals (Borodulin, Uspenskiy, Voronov, Lutai), then they are the same on the ice.
Evgeni performed two quads, with a little blot, but still great, triple axel .... I am very like steps, especially the last - Tarasova on the straight footwoork even applauded! It feels different class, the highest, compared with other boys. With errors skated all. But since there was secret, they not allowed to shoot, I will not more describe errors.
After skating, each skaters "dismantled" so-called "jury", headed by the TAT (Tarasova).

Evgeni in the warm-room (dressed in a white jacket) was interviewed for the First channel, NTV+, Sport... Evgeni looked very happy, cheerful and beautiful....
When Evgeni was interviewed, passed by the Tatiana Tarasova, but stopped and smiling, listening Zhenya. Then, Evgeni mentioned her, and said: "That, Tatiana gave me advices, thanks to her!" (she really very much advised him after the performance, but I could not hear, only slightly). She hugging Yana (Plushy's fiancée) and said: "I'm so excited, I love the talents!"

.. I barely record little warmup, until they not noticed...

Plushenko said at the Test Skate, after his FS that his first performance will be in Samara o September 15th, when he was asked if it was not too soon after his wedding, he said that his wedding won't affect his training but if he does not get on time to Samara, he will do Perm, but he does not want to do Perm because of the skating rink.

He wants to do GP, Euros, Olys and Worlds, when he was asked why Worlds, he said that if he is coming back, he is coming back to everything.

That interview was quite nice he said that he feels young and strong and that he has never has wanted this as much as he wants it now, because this (skating) is his.

About the FS in general, since it was a closed ice rink, the article can't tell much, it just said Plush did 7 out of his 9 jumps and while the quads were not clean, they were clean enough to count.

Torino I will go anyway but I would never bet plush to be there for any reason!!!
thanx ximena:) said interview of above is here :
Nikolai Dolgopolov, a member of the Presidium of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia, Novogorsk
Heart of a handful of frozen coaches, figure skating officials and the correspondent of "RG" melted away, when they saw a new long program of Evgeni Plushenko.
Strictly private viewing at a temperature of +14, made us shiver not from cold, than and from joy. Plushenko is still good. He was nervous....
But then the Olympic champion went out on the ice, and quite frankly - it was like three years had not passed. Clean skating. Excellent jumps - Evgeni did nine: successfully "jumped" seven, two failed. At the end missed the one element, just because he was taking a breathing. Triple axel excellent, and not ideal-but qualifying by judges quadruple. I'm not being excessive, when I say that I believe that his footwork in Long Program is even more difficul. And you know, such attack, speed, rhythm, there is no doubt: of our male skaters, Evgeni is best, by a head.
He then approached to Mishin, who kissed him and said quietly, but we have heard, long time no speaking: "Molodec, malychik (Well done, boy)."
whole article and dialogue of him with evgeni here http://www.rg.ru/2009/09/01/plushenko.html

Video of Test skate,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvEeEplutE4
he did two quads in Lp and 4-2 in Sp  (not perfect but well..)..quads are back, flail arms are back, pelvic moves are back(just for you Ant), golden mullet is back, I think Plushy is baaaack!
Pisiev said they liked his LP, found it special (huh?):sheesh: Maybe Tat liked the sexy moves?

And because I dont know where else to ask :o, is French Masters shown on french tv??Eurosport or something?

No, it definitely says Klimkin. I loved Klimkin! I adored him.
Medusa, I agree about Klimkin. It seems like he & Sasha Abt were the lost Russians during the Yagudin & Plushenko era. I loved both Klimkins & Abt's skating as well.

Well I don't speak Russian, so I read this through the translator and then fixed a little so it does not sound too machine-like, it's an interview to Evgeni.
HEre you go.

Plushenko is back: I’m going to win gold in Vancouver

The eminent champion is ready to win Olympics for a second time.
The Turin Olympic champion and multiple World champion figure skater Evgeni Plushenko has returned. And this time it’s not just words. Zhenya, despite the three year break is going to re-master the quadrupel jump and win the Olympic Games in Vancouver. He talked about his plans for the upcoming season to “LIFE.ru”.

- When I won the Olympics in 2006, I decided to rest, - explained the 26-year-old athlete. - I wanted to try on some other projects, try myself on television, to be in “Eurovision” (he laughs). You know, at that time, I won all the competitions in figure skating that I could. I wanted to show myself in something else, I wanted something new. And after a while I felt my strength return, besides my favorite girl convinced me that I have not yet said my last word in figure skating (he smiles).

- Frankly, Evgeni, I though that Valentin Pissiev had persuaded you to come back.
- No, none did and none assured me that I was needed in Russia (laughs). And I won’t say there has not been a change, in my opinion some of our guys have improved a lot in their skills over the years.

– The Olympic Games are going to be the last competition of your life?
- You know, I’ve talked recently with potential sponsor and business partners and some people that are willing to do anything so I stay around until Olympics 2014. I have received some proposals to not retire after Vancouver, but of couse, everything has to go well with me, with my health and the new techniques in order to stay for the games in Sochi. But all this, of course, it’s right now a fantasy!

–But do you want it?
- You know, right now I don’t want to think about it. The upcoming year 2010 is going to be very difficult for me because it was a three-year pause in my career and there were many injuries. So we'll see ... But I am very happy that I came back, But of course being happy is not enough this time.

– It’s been two years since the rumors started about you coming back to train. When did you really started to train.
– I tried to come back last summer but I didn’t receive the support from the Russian fed. So the flights, to pay my trainers, choreographers, all were on me. Now I have the support, though it’s not much.

– Evgeni, how is things with the technique? Every year, figure skating is becoming a more complex technical sport.
- If you look at the test skate that took palce not long ago in Novogorsk, in general, all went fine. I tried to jump two quadruple jumps and did them. True, there were not clean ones but I’m happy with myself. The attempts were good. But I must say there’s a lot of work left. I plan to do two quads in the free program…

- Who is your main competitor at the Olympics?
– There are a lot of strong athletes. So I can’t say just one…I can think about ten skaters that could be on the podium. They are from Japan, China, USA, Canada, Switzerland and France.

– Evgeni, don’t you feel scared that you won’t be able to repeat the success from four years ago?
- The risk is there, of course. It’s a risk to come back after a three year pause. But I think my fans are happy about how things have turned out. Of course, I may not win in Vancouver, but that’s how the sport works. And I already have all the titles so I don’t have anything to prove. My life won’t end.

- Has your coach set a targetfor Vancouver?
- I want to be in the podium of course! (Thinks back) What am I saying?! My place is to be on top, to be number one and I will fight for it!
– And if it does not work, nothing bad will happen (he shrugged). I still have my coaching career ahead of me.

– Really, that is what you want?
- Why not? I looked at the trainers now, they are happy! They enjoy life, train their athletes, raise champions. It’s great! And most importantly, by coaching, it’s a great opportunity to still win medals for the country, in another way.

Plushenko is back: I’m going to win gold in Vancouver
I want to be in the podium of course! (Thinks back) What am I saying?! My place is to be on top, to be number one and I will fight for it!
what the title of article projects and what he actually said is far too different...

- No, none did and none assured me that I was needed in Russia (laughs).
he didnt get my email?:unsure::laugh:

people that are willing to do anything so I stay around until Olympics 2014
i swear this is not me!
and no no no, that would be just wrong!i m sure he jokes ab it!

thank you ximena for article:)

Ah yes, always what they say in the title is not what he says afterward although I did like his "what am I saying?".

I agree that he should not try for Sochi, that's what little Arthur is for, but Evgeni for sure will be there as "something" of the Russian team, maybe Mishin will help him with his trainer career.

As for China, he always always says China, my guess is that he just says all the countries with strong skaters and Switzerland because it has Lambiel. Before I used to think it was because of Li, but he always always says China. I'm sure he has thought of Tomas but he didn't say Czech Republic.

... from official site Russian Skating Federation....
http://www.goldskate.ru/news/fullnews.shtml?newsid=455

During August this year, on teaching and training base «Novogorsk» were "test skating" programs candidates for a the national team, which is preparing for the Winter Olympic Games 2010 in Vancouver (Canada).
Sportsmen (pairs, dance, singles) were on the weekly assembles, which took place within view of elements and programs prepared for the new sports season.
To assess the state of preparation of candidates for the team, have been invited officials of the Federation, leading experts, judges, and the consultant team Tatiana Tarasova.
Every athlete (pair) showed a short program with all the elements, the original dance, as well as parts of an long program (dance's program). After each performances, experts made their remarks, recommendations to skaters and their coaches.

The most pleasant impression left Yuko Kawaguchi - Alexander Smirnov, who are completely skated their program with all the elements. In "test skating" a participated Evgeni Plushenko, who also performed a entirely short and long programs (except one combination of spins). His performance have shown that an athlete is in good shape, is aimed at serious work and is far ahead of his colleagues single skaters, in the level of skill.

All the skaters were tested, which conducted a complex scientific group.
At the end of the skating, held meeting assembly members of team (by type of program), which summed up fees and plans for the upcoming training cycle.

At 19 and 20 September are scheduled open "test skating" programs at the viewer at «Katok.ru», and children's center hockey and figure skating in city Odintsovo.

From interview with Johnny Weir, part about Plushy... ;)

http://www.outsports.com/os/index.p...-2009/261-johnny-weir-the-outsports-interview
02.09.2009, by Cyd Zeigler jr.

Johnny Weir: The Outsports interview, Part 1
....

OS: Evgeni Plushenko and Stephane Lambiel both left the sport and have returned to compete in the Olympics. In other sports, there is some resentment toward athletes, like the Williams sisters in tennis, who like to come in and out of the sport when there’s a big championship on the line. Is there any of that resentment in skating?

Johnny: The sport is very different from when Plushenko won his Olympic title, and Lambiel won the silver. It’s a different system, different rules, so coming back is harder than it ever was in my sport. I personally have no resentment because a competitor means nothing to me. I just need to do my best and think about what I’m going to do and make sure I look gorgeous. But other skaters harbor resentment, because people have worked for the four years for their Olympic berth, and people come back who are already favorites and some feel that takes away their chances. But if you’re good enough and strong enough in your head, it doesn’t matter if a Plushenko or a Lambiel come back.....

If a guy is going to do quads for some unimportant competition, without holding back, he deserves his spot at the top of the game.

Kurt Browning threw quads in during exhibitions in Stars On Ice, just to see if he could... makes him king of the world in my book ;)

I'm with Toni here; Kurt Browning is a really special skater. Plushy can't compare. Kurt's amazing both technically and artistically, he was an innovator and has done some of the most memorable competitive and show programs ever.

And not memorable in that Baby Sex Bomb sort of way, either.

Kurt Browning is a really special skater
Who said the opposite?
And who compared browning with plush???:confused:and why do we need a comparisson anyway?
If it is for king, it is plush nickname like many, king on ice, mostly le tzar, zar, in banners at competitions, commentators etc, I think terry gannon agreed with that.;)
But i dont expect people who cant stand plush to agree with this:p
I didnt expect such controversy, it 's not like he was called Miss California.

seniorita! (or another diehard), you prob know this.
Is Evgeny scheduled to participate in Finlandia Trophy?
Thanks in advance.
