Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

*Shakes fist at Toni*

Seniorita - i'm looking forward to our debates on Plush when his competitions start! I laughed an awful lot at the thought of either Plush or Kurt being Miss California!!

seniorita! (or another diehard), you prob know this.
Is Evgeny scheduled to participate in Finlandia Trophy?
Thanks in advance.

I think that he has not appeared on the intial entrance lists that people have been posting on the net. But Seniorita or Plushyta are sure to know for sure one way or the other ;)

Ant

well in my book Plushy is the King, and Stephan the Little Prince, so lets just say I bought the wrong book ;)

9th Septembre??Wow, when this happened???On Wednesday?? I m not ready, I need to make popcorn!

Hsuhs, he is not listed in Fillandia Trophy and he has dropped saying it, but I have lost track of so many news and articles per week, so I m not a good source!
Oh we can debate till we drop:o, so far it's fun :)
Now it is kind of 'I ll believe it when i see it' so when I hear "on the ice representing russia...", I imagine I ll jump till the sealing!;)
Now if you liked Plushy you would be happy too and we would jump together:rolleye:

Thanx Ximena for vid, did he cut the hair a bit at last?
Arthur got very tall!wow!

you know I love you, weakmind and all!:bow:

when Evgeny can do a program with no jumps and no flapping (ala Kurt's Nyah) and have a crowd mesmerised every night for a 66+ city tour then we'll talk ;)

Plush can't hold a candle to Kurt... Kurt is untouchable... can't stand plush no matter how you girls push....
... and vice versa. ;)

when Evgeny can do a program with no jumps and no flapping (ala Kurt's Nyah) and have a crowd mesmerised every night for a 66+ city tour then we'll talk
I think that to all skaters should be tie the hands! Really, what will they do to them, anyway? ... they are not parts of the body
....Kurt's amazing both technically and artistically, he was an innovator and has done some of the most memorable competitive and show programs ever.
He jumped also 4-3-3 and 4-3-2?! :p
... about "artistry":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oivDqh-nds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yf2vbCMLxy8

You are sure, that you looked ALL Plushy's shows? ... obviously not followed its six-month tours, across Russia and Europe 2007 year ... or when with a broken arm, he skate over 60 shows in America (2002 "Champions on Ice" tour)? ;)

Anyway, I do not want to argue about "tastes" - everybody has his own  King, and about tastes are not discussed :p

So, as for me - KING IS BACK!

P.S. Plushy's book is not yet closed

Nice banner plushyta ... each era has its king i guess..
Well, when I can not put my avatar for now...
Okey, until then it looks like I 'll talk alone :rolleye:
Thou shalt never walk alone here

seniorita! (or another diehard), you prob know this.

Everything is still open - but I do not believe. He announced possible appearance of another Russian competition in same time (06-10 october) - II stage of "Russian Cup" (Perm, Russia) http://www.goldskate.ru/schedule/ ... although, he this Ice Rink not like it, because it is smaller than the other...

P.S. Plushy's book is not yet closed

Neither is Kurt's....

and I'm not questioning Evgeny's touring abilities, he's a hard worker and he gives back to his fans. I was just saying that Kurt was able to keep the audience's attention without the 'big tricks' but with just pure skating... that says a whole lot about a skater, IMHO. If Evgeny did a 180 - as Kurt did as a professional... Kurt the competitive skater doesn't thrill me half as much, either - I'd probably jump on the bandwagon...

I love Kurt's country boy upbringing, down home roots that keep him genuinely humble. I was a fan well before I met him, but meeting him really sold home just how much of him is REAL when he's skating and when he's talking and performing for a camera. It's not a seperate entity and he's not just 'playing nice to keep a following'. Not that I'm suggesting Evgeny is, but for me he is overly confident/arrogant in his abilities... at least that's how he comes off... which is totally different from what I hear he is like in person... not sure why he feels the need to hide the real him.

I guess i say all of this to say - with Kurt it's more than just the jumps, tricks, or even teh skating, that draws me to him... there's a connection... that I'm sure you feel for your skater... and I guess I hold onto the 'glory days' of skating where there wasn't just one STAR... there were a host of them, and while they might not all have gotten along in their younger years, they'd banded together to make something truly special as professionals, and they made skating FUN... now everyone goes their seperate ways... so I hold onto the few that are still around. And it pains me that they're just pushed by the wayside for the 'latest and greatest'... that seem to just end up as flashes in teh pan who come and go on a whim.

I watched him for hours on warming-up's .. without "acting, jumps and tricks" ;)
Believe me that the ice was only his, regardless of the presence of other skaters :)

Evgeni Plushenko is ready for battle

Evgeni Plushenko already counting the days before his first official start, three years after Olympic triumph in Turin. Who does not believe that our famous skater is ready to fight for gold in Vancouver, may next Wednesday to come and look at Plushenko «in work», on the "Academy of figure skating", where will be held "St. Petersburg's Cup".

A recent "test skating" in Novogorsk, convince even the most inveterate skeptics: Evgeni Plushenko to the Games in Vancouver will be ready. Fighting is only for the gold medal. Turin Olympic champion has done tremendous work.

Evgeni Plushenko, the Olympic champion in 2006 in figure skating:
« We need to start all over again, because three years had been omitted. Do not ride were injured. And now there is microtrauma. We must do everything carefully. The main thing - do not overdo it ».

By the works of Evgeni Plushenko in training, did not even say that he missed three seasons. All the same, clearly identifiable perfect skating, the same finely honed quadruple jumps, the most complicated cascades. Incidentally Evgeni's first official start in the Olympic season will be very soon - September 9. It will be a "St. Petersburg's Cup".. To Plushenko, ahead general skating of the programs.

Evgeni Plushenko:
« Long time ago, on such competitions I are not performed. I have to skate, to test my strength. Work out all the elements - steps, spins, jumps. Perform new programs. Main - Russian Championship, the selection for the Olympic Games ».

Of course, such a rapid recovery of the former form, Plushenko's would have been impossible without its permanent coach - Alexei Mishin. However, coach insists that is not focused exclusively on working with award-winning pupil. Equally, he paying attention to two other people under his care - Andrei Lutai and Arthur Gachinsky. They also have chances to go to Vancouver.

Alexei Mishin:
« Big team is working around Zhenya's. I can say that with level of the done work I am satisfied. Arthur Gachinsky also ready to compete. He grew. There is progress. If I only worked with someone one, it would not be a coach. I would then remain, just in one Olympic champion - Urmanov ».

If you expect miracles from Plushenko right now, then for Lutay's and Gachinsky is Olympics in Vancouver - a chance to gain more competitive experience performances in elite figure skating. Their time comes in the following, much more important for us, the Games - in Sochi.

I come from a country that people overreact and exaggerate in emotions, and his way was my question mark over the 8 years plush was in comps and there was no youtube, so I only watched skating on tv and it is funny but i dont remember hearing his voice ever. So i concluded russians must not be so outgoing people, and don't react much like I m used to...
It is not bad too be confident when you are an athlete, and plush has champion's nerves..He just looked to me dead serious in comps, and the contrary in exhibitions. Arrogant I dunno why he may come out like that, but i would consider false modesty to appear otherwise considering his record. Over-marked or not, he stayed on top too long not to believe in his abilities. And he went a long way to achieve what he did. I haven't crossed him boasting about it though. Or causing troubles with his comments. But I find him sincere to say "I come back and I want to try again to win"?What to say?I come back to be 11th?(lol imagine if he comes 11:eek:, I will be banned from his fans:boohoo:)
And then again when you grow up in front of audience maybe you need to keep yourself just for you, who knows...I dont know how it is when people ask every minute of your time for photos and talking, and grabbing a hair from you (dont laugh I 've seen it happened:laugh:) ...I was surprised how friendly he is off ice, but boy..he is too shy for a greek girl.. on the other hand we are a bunch of strangers to him who jump all over like monkeys. Maybe he needs to say one time "hey back off a little?" Then he steped on ice and looked like a fish in the water . I dont care about audience tricks, cause I understand this was a show and he uses them, like sex bomb, but I saw Godfather and St Peters 300 live and I was excited, even his crossovers looked ethereal!
He had broken his arm??Why I was not informed Plushyta?

Plushyta!!!:unsure:wrong images

Plushy after his first appearance in St peters Cup on 9/9 he is scheduled for Russian Cup II, in Perm, reason of not going to Samara that was initially planned is his marriage which takes place some days before
http://www.allsportinfo.ru/

some parts of the article
"Initially, we really had planned to address Evgeni Plushenko at the first stage of the Cup of Russia in Samara 15-19 September - confirmed Alexei Mishin. - But postponed it two weeks later , the second stage of the Cup of Russia in Perm, October 6-10 , due to family circumstances associated with the wedding of Zhenya (September 12, he combines legal marriage with producer Yana Rudkovskaya). The rest are planning to adhere to schedule.
If Plushenko is psychologically ready for the competition, will show only the start. I do not want now to make predictions, in the course of the season will analyze his shape and make the necessary corrections.
Alexei Mishin also spoke about the physical form of Evgeni Plushenko. "It is painful issue for us - the old injury Zhenya. He is now undergoing a rehabilitation course at one of the best clinics in St. Petersburg.

you know I love you, weakmind and all!:bow:

What Plushenko can do

After his return to figure skating, Evgeny's real chances of success were commended by the chairman of the Technical Committee of the International Skating Union (ISU), Alexander Lakernik.

Alexander Rafaelovich Lakernik is not only a famous judge, known throughout the world of figure skating. He has also, for many years headed the ISU Techvom, which is developing a strategy for the development of this sport. There is none else in this world who knows all the subtleties and nuances of figure skating as so delicately and precisely, as Lakernik. Russia's lucky to have such a specialist. This professor always explains to Russia's leading athletes, some technical errors they do.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta: Alexander Rafaelovich, how do you assess the new free program of Evgeni Plushenko?

Alexander Lakernik: You know, I would like to pose the question differently. It's a little early to talk about the program. It's not complete and there's still work to do. Let's remember that were are just starting September. It's more interesting to reflect about Evgeni Plushenko's condition.

WG: Well, then let's.

Lakernik: It's the opinion of many, and my on twoo that his condition is quite high for a man that has missed three complete season. Today his skating was in a class quite apart from his fellow skaters on the national team. And that's the main thing, besides that...

WG: Alexander Rafaelovich, what else?

Lakernik: Then there are other issues. To prepare for the season, they must be systematically addressed. First, if you want to compete on equal terms with the strongest athletes of the world you organism needs to hold up, Evgeni Plushenko is not the youngest, he is not old but he has been skating for so many years. Secondly, it is now necessary to increase the work more, but how will his body react? I hope it will well. And then, we can talk about the programs. They can be praised, you can complain about them, but I don't think they should be a matter of dicussion right now. If Plushenko goes to competition, this free program will look completely different.

WG: At his first skate Zhenya did, albeit not perfect, a quadruple and triple axek. And what a wonderful axel! And the footwork was simply gorgeous.

Lakernik: But the program needs to be put in it, a lot of connecting elemens. But now we have all seen a good layout. You mentioned the quad. but when a man has done it for years, believe me, the jump is still there, inside of him. And when Evgeni dropped 6 pounds, it all came back to him. In the weight he used to be, he could have hardly done it.

WG: But now his weight is normal.

Lakernik: No. He lost 6 and he still has 2 or 3 more to lose. Everything that has happened with Zhenya - it is undeniable positive. But to start to shout: "Oh, we are already have the champion!" We shouldn't. All this is worthy and interesting, and if all this continue in the same vein, then this can go on a higher level.

WG: And win?

Lakernik: And win, too. But, as I told you, there are many "if"

Plushenko said today that news falsely announced that he doesn't go to Samara because of his wedding
Yesterday, the media rushed to report that Evgeni Plushenko will not participate in competition in Samara because of his marriage to Yana Rudkovskaya, the producer of Dima Bilan.

Allegedly, the king of ice postponed return to the great sports because of the celebration. Famed athlete said "KP" that this information does not correspond to reality.

I did not intend to appear in Samara! I ask the media not to circulate false information - no one is putting it off, I returned to the sport and there I was. And not going to go anywhere. I come to the wedding just one day, and from the next day I will be trained by Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin in Novogorsk a week - Olympic champion said "KP". - The first competition will be on September 9 (St. Petersburg Cup), the second competition will take place in October in Perm. And on October 22-25 (Grand Prix in Moscow).

seeing as how I don't know of a skater with the nickname "PluCh" I guess I know that you are not a fan of "PluCh" ;)

Maybe my brain was thinking about Pluschenko and Chan at the same time...either way the statement applies equally to both

and because I have a big heart ...

Jouby interview :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5y793ayayA (he talks about his Olympic dream, his old ice rink, his house and pets)
It's not threadjacking if it's the Plushy thread, right?

OK, then: more on Brian Joubert (around 13:00). All I managed to understand is, of course, three quads... I wish he'd stop talking about that, it's a pointless distraction. Also, that they discussed Lambiel and Plushenko returning to competition. There's a bit of footage of Brian working with Albena and Maxim back in June.

well last months Plushy thread actually tries to be a Plushy thread...:rolleye:..so dont get too carried away :p
I m fine with Jouby vids around but I can't swear for Plushyta' s reaction:laugh:

Joubs looks good by the way, you think i ll become a fan once I see him live???
