Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Thanks for posting the LP, seniorita, I just got through watching it.

My thoughts:

Oddly enough, it seems I alway enjoy Evgeni's SPs moreso than his LPs, and it hasn't changed. I watched his SP twice now (lol, wasn't going to watch it again because I didn't want to lose the magic of that first time, but I did), and I love it! However, his LP is another matter. I really don't care for the music or the violin, but I'm not the one skating. It looks like a work in progress. Regards his jumps, a couple of forward landings, hands down on one, but his 3A is still a thing of beauty! Ah... Looking good, looking good, like the Plushenko of old. :)

I certainly don't want to see a 3a-less Chan 'transition' onto the Olympic podium.

3 axel-less men (unless he has a quad ;)) and and top ladies skaters jump content doesn't look much different. Strictly speaking a male skater without triple axel or quad from non traditional skating country with tonnes of transition with never be in running for a gold medal like Chan is.

And one does expect mens skaters to do powerful jumps and skating, not just have lots of transitions and wonderful spins (a spin alone should not be used to differentiate between top skaters).

I dunno--I rather liked it. I am impressed that his technical ability--ie, his jumping--remains at such a high level. I think he's a strong contender for a repeat gold medal at the Olys, something we haven't seen in a long time in singles skating.

S....I dunno
It seems that I ll watch his programs and the rest of Rostel only from Tv if a miracle doesn't happen this week, I m so frustrated after all the arrangements:cry:
What I see, you do not have more your signature?

Moscow, we arrive!

Oh, brother. Same old Plushenko. SP looks like 4 years ago, same sequence and all: spazzy jump, spazzy jump, spazzy jump, spazzy spin with bad positions, spazzy footwork, spazzy footwork, spazzy spin, no connection to the music. It's strange he's chosen Aranjuez and a tango together for his two programs - what's up with that??

I'd really rather not see him at the Olympics. Just let it be, Yevgeni. You got your gold. Let it be.

You're living in the wrong decade. Look around you: figure skating has changed. This is not the men's figure skating of the 90s.

After watching Oda's program and having watched Takahashi's, I am a little upset considering I dont like evgeni's programs, but honestly I ve missed him in competitions and I think it is huge for him that he managed to come back to a competitive form, so no matter what will happen, I will cheer for him and celebrate his comeback with a vodka:clap:Apart from jumps, he is exciting to watch so..I m happy!I dont care much if he wins anything, I dont know why, lol! I m ok that he said he will come back and he did! It is also a good example as to fight for something you dream, so I would say welcome back :)
I dont think Rostel will be too indicative of his position right now but anyway..Teb showed that judges are not too intimidated with quads:rolleye:

Plushenko lost it

Wow, Evgheny seems to have lost his glow. I think his skating has taken a nose dive. There are several skaters I feel are stronger now than Plushenko. Oda, for one who just won Trophee Bompard. Verner, Lysacek, Mroz just to name a few. Oh well, we'll see. perhaps Plushy will improve.

Why do think I am a fan? :p
I dont know, but I found a very good reason for me to be one;)

Ok and his skating was fine, he was just not confident in the long, but he is really fast and has presence on ice, although his costume is not my cup of tea..too many things going on there, my friend proposed that it was bad, he should have taken it off:biggrin:

it's funny you'd think so. i found the opposite the case. i liked his long much more than his short. i'm wondering if he'll be able to put in 2 quads successfully though. that seems to be such a tall order. but if he does and lands both, well his chances have skyrocketed.

his jumps looks quite good already. i'm shocked. it'll be interesting to see how they tweek his programs and how the judges will respond to him when he resumes competing again.

Which promise was that? That i would keep my Pluscheko bashing to a minimum and give an honest appraisal of his programmes when he skates them in international competition?

Ant
I just checked and there is a direct flight from Moscow to Manchester, I can always come to Manchester to kick you and get back in time for ladies Lp:unsure:
no you had promised you would cheer for Plushy just for me, and then be honest about his programs:yes:

I am so happy and so jealous that you will be in Moscow, Seniorita. Are you going to China, too? Kidding, of course. Somehow the field in Moscow is really weak among the men. The only thing I am looking forward to is Amodio - but since he is French and therefore terribly plagued by inconsistency he'll probably implode and place 12th.

I cross my fingers, tomorrow at midi i ll get the visa, i don't have it in my hands which is a bit upsetting to get it 11 hours before the flight but anyway...I m calm!:frown:
No china, lol, after Russia I ll come back to sleep for a month!
Amodio cant be placed 12, Urbas is out, only 11 men now..You are not looking forward to plushy?I hope amodio gets on podium and weir and kozuka!Hmm that wont work..:rolleye:

from Epd a french article

Evgeni says he knows he is not ready to compete at Olys yet but he is trying to reach his best level by then and Rostel is an important step for him and gives him "la chair de poule"-how i translate this, excited chickenpox?-to skate again in front of his fans.
Plushy wait for me!:party2:

where is the zebra banner?

Sounds exciting with your visa, I hope everything works out for you.
where is the zebra banner?
Zebra was tired, Stéphane was my banner non-stop since he announced his return to competition - but now two amazing pair skaters demanded some attention.
