Predictions?

So many have listed Preaubert as a favorite. I don't enjoy his skating AT all.

See, I don't know what others are basing their predictions on, to me, it's not about whose skating I like/ dislike. I try to be as objective as possible. As for Alban, I think he does have a shot at placing 3rd. Partly, b/c he was 3rd last year, partly because he's got the quad.

I'd rather him grab the silver (b/c I don't enjoy Evan's skating, b/c I think Evan's talentless yet overrated etc). But - most probably - it won't happen, b/c Evan is a more consistent skater with better results in the past. He's 2x worlds bronze medalist, too, and Alban isn't.

As for Ryan BRADLEY, Stephen CARRIERE, Patrick CHAN, Takahiko KOZUKA and Yasuharu NANRI, they all have a chance, IMO. But I believe none of them have beaten Preaubert in the past (?), so why would they this time? It could happen though.

I, too, thing Preaubert is the most likely bronze medalist. However, we just don't know how Carriere and Chan will fare on the senior scene (I know Chan did take part in senior GP last year, and did lose to Preaubert in Paris, but he has been improving steadily throughout last season, so I wouldn't rule him out).

Unless Emily Hughes has improved, I sincerely hope she doesn't make it to the podium. I recently viewed her short and long at the latest Worlds, and find her skating quite ghastly. She is completely devoid of any grace or elegance whatsoever. The only thing she's got going for her is that she jumps high.

How polite. You do realize that Emily was less than a point behind Kimmie for gold at the 2007 National Championships? (and unfairly so in my opinion.) Emily has had consistency problems and has a lot to work on, but come on. "Devoid of any grace and elegance whatsoever" is ridiculous. She isn't a Sasha-ballerina type and doesn't try to be. She attacks and when she has energy, her programs come alive. I like her artistry more than Kimmie's and more than anyone we have out there at the moment.

Kimmie will be Kimmie - relatively stable.

She has a totally new LP as of 4-5 weeks ago. I will be surprised if that doesn't mess her up. Kimmie's stability is anything but certain given that. Then you have Miki who has been having some issues, and Caroline who is a newcomer. All things considered, Emily actually has a pretty good chance at a medal. I'm sure that displeases you immensely. But it pleases me immensely, so it all evens out.

I also smile when Emily takes the ice, but it's usually a sad one.

I'm sorry you choose to be a hater.

Apparently Castile/Okolski have withdrawn. I didn't know that, guess I'm behind the curve. Does anyone know if they're injured?

Brooke injured her left ankle recently, their withdrawal was announced a couple of days ago I think.
