Private or group lessons?

Hi!

Which option would be better for progress, one 1h group lesson a week or one private 1h lesson with a coach once a month? I have to choose one of these alternatives because I don't have money for both...

On top of either of these options I'm able to practise by myself about 5 h a week.

I'm currently working on single axel and would like to learn doubbles as well, so a private coach would probably be best for learning correct technique and correcting errors, however I'm wondering if one lesson a month is enough for progress or if I'm better off doing the group lessons once a week even if I won't get as much individual feedback on my skating as I would with a private coach?

I'd be really interested in hearing opinions and thought on this, or if anyone has been in a similar situation what did you choose and were you happy with your choice?

Hello, do you have any friends you can skate with. You can see if your coach can do semi private lessons. But you do have make sure they are around the same level for this to work. This can reduce cost.

I pcik this option I do do the prvate lessons and then pratice on your own. Because thats where it comes from is pratcing on your on time.

There is a lot which can be learnt from watching other skaters and considering the corrections and guidance they are given, if you are prepared to do so. Whilst you would get more individual attention in each lesson if you had one private lesson per month, there is also more time between lessons for mistakes to become ingrained and you could thus spend a lot longer unknowingly working on incorrect technique between lessons. I would try the group lessons and see how things go - that way any major errors would be spotted and corrected after one week, rather than after four weeks. If the group lessons don't suit you, you could then try private.
