Questions about jump and jump combination/sequence scoring... and variation jumps

A few questions I've wondered about...

What would be the score of
-a triple Lutz-half loop-triple flip combo?
-a one and a half flip-triple axel? (I know CoP adds no points for the jump, but how do you think it would affect GOE?)
-double one foot salchow-triple salchow combo?

Second, why do you think CoP discourages the use of variation jumps? If someone could do a triple one foot salchow or other jump variant, shouldn't there be some sort of credit for it?

What do you think?

(6.0 + 5.5) x 0.8 sequence multiplier = 9.2
Probably less than you could earn for landing those two jumps separately or in combination with easier jumps.

The one and a half flip would be counted as a single flip or downgraded double. Also it (and the sequence as a whole if it is called as a sequence) would probably have to get negative GOE, unless it's really obvious that's what was intended and it was done especially well.

If it went right into the triple axel, the whole thing would be considered a sequence and therefore the axel would only be worth 0.8 of its full value.

Definitely not worth doing under the current rules.

If there were extra steps in between, it would be counted as a separate jump pass, which would mean that if the skater was planning to use all the jump passes allowed, the last one, probably planned to be worth more than a single flip, would not count.

-double one foot salchow-triple salchow combo?

That would be scored as 2S+3S and might be worth doing with the current rules if it can be done well because it's worth the same as 3S+2T in base mark and could inspire some judges to be more generous with the GOE for that element or with the Transitions or Choreography components because of the originality.

Second, why do you think CoP discourages the use of variation jumps?

Poor planning/lack of imagination?
