When Johnny saw Adelina's scores he remarked that they were "very generous." He also saw the handwriting on the wall. After Yuna's skate (and before her scores came up) he said, that performance would win any other skating competition except this one. To win this competition she would have had to do more.

Is it possible he went back and looked at the protocols to better understand the result? Just because someone thought the score was too high in the moment does mean that when they go back and look at why they can have a change of heart?

A few posters have pointed out that even if Yuna had done 3Lo, it wouldn't have mattered. The whole "7 triple vs. 6 triple" argument is false, even if Yuna did 7 it didn't matter, and it distracts from the GOEs, components scores, shady level calls on steps, and Yuna's superior tech content in the SP. It's all just ******** to cover up and explain away blatant cheating.

I'm still waiting for someone BIG to come out and call a spade a spade. Not just heat of the moment thing like yesterday, but now that the dust has settled and USFS and ISU are trying to kill the story, doesn't a big name have the integrity to take a stand and speak out in a vocal way?

Kwan was being diplomatic. From what I saw, it was clear she disagreed with the result but preferred to talk about good skating rather than controversy.

Kwan skates in Yuna's shows, so I'm not sure that she is an impartial person. I don't think Kwan is biased necessarily but that is something to consider.

Big surprise. Stojko wouldn't know artistry if the Louvre fell on him. The real issue isn't the tech scores. It's GOE and PCS, and until those issues are addressed this kind of controversy is going to repeat itself ad nauseum.

Wait til Worlds. I would bet $ we'll see a similar situation in at least one of the disciplines.

I honestly have not seen the take-off edge from an angle that shows it was on an inside edge. She typically does flutz but sometimes she does not get an edge call, so I cannot say with 100% certainty she flutzed. Watching it back I did see an outside edge; whether she rolled over before taking off I can't tell.

"Sloppy presentation" is an opinion. A lot of judges like the arm waving. Don't you think if that type of skating didn't appeal to any judges the choreographers would give the skaters something different? Her jumps were performed the best I have ever seen them aside from the three jump combo. I do think the result should have been closer but I agree with the outcome because in my humble opinion Yuna was flat. Some agree with that, others don't. But I don't go attacking commentators or posters who think Yuna should have won and make arguments without exaggerating how bad Adelina is.

Let me ask you a question. It requires a yes/no response and that's it. Do you believe it is right for the Olympics to have judges including a proven cheat and the wife of a Russian skating boss? Is this fair for our competitors?

So why don't we just go to Russia and yank that Gold Medal right out of Adelina's hand because she did not deserve it. So who cares that she had the most difficult program and skated like she really wanted to win but hey she is Russian so of course it was fixed. No of course not. But the pedigree of the champions pulling for Carolina and Kim is much greater than those who support the decision.

You really need to relax, I am trying to make my points in a civil manner. You all are ridiculous for saying Tara's opinion is from being bought by the Russians, reliving her youth, or just plain stupidity. I can assure you she knows more about skating than anyone here. Not that it means she is right, but she is at least credible.

Try as you might to tell yourself that everything was totally fair and square just because your favourite won, but what they did here? Was a travesty. And you keep attempting to propagate that Yuna is flat = therefore silver? I'm not on with that. You're not even considering how hard it is would be to keep calm and skate in that audience that hopes you fall flat on your face. The ridiculous thing about how Adelina skated with heart when the audience was eating everything up -- that put her over Yuna, and supposed technical score superiority when it fact most of it was +3 GOEs that she never used to get? When it fact Adelina had less than 4 base value over Yuna's program and Yuna's SP had higher technical base value?

Oh yeah, I'm mad. And I'm not on with that.

Now that clip I did see, and I agree....clearly she was quite diplomatic and was not going to get drawn far into the controversy. She is a diplomat in fact...check out her bio. Former public diplomacy ambassador for U.S. Department of State, senior advisory for public diplomacy and public affairs, has an M.A. (I think) in International Relations, and also happens to be married to a candidate for Governor of Rhode Island. So, she's not going to go out and get embroiled in controversy.

I don't feel like women should be judged based on whom they marry, so for me she gets a pass. The other judge seems like a jerk but I think Inman was equally a jerk leading into Vancouver, and he still judges. I feel there is a legitimate argument for any of the top 3 to be in the gold position. So Western judges are not corrupt? Half the people here think the USFA was in collusion with Russia on this.
