Link, please? And she is--she will ALWAYS be the 2010 Olympic champion. To say that someone is a "real champion" can also refer to the way they overcome adversity, or, as in this case, come back strong after a long break and injury--it does not mean that person should have won this time. Johnny and Tara both praised Yuna, said (I'm paraphrasing) she is a fantastic skater, etc., but that she just played it safe on a night when safe was not enough.

They also said they want to help make figure skating popular again. Suggesting that the judging is corrupt will certainly not help in that regard.

the difference is only 1.42 point.
Their PCS is almost same in both SP and FP.
YuNa's step sequence got level 3 in SP and FP and Adelina got level 4 and 1.7 GOE.
This is fixed from the beginnig.YuNa was robbed of gold medal.
 
Kitano 'Beat' Takeshi had this to say on a weekly evening news program where he is the newscaster regarding Mao's lp performance:

'Mao, oh, Mao was wonderful. She doesn't need to worry about the score. The whole judging system is hogwash anyway.'
 
It's funny how many people in this thread think that the only "legitimate" opinions are from those who believe Yuna should have won while anyone in the media who says he/she believes Adelina's win was justified are quickly written off as being a "joke" or "biased". I personally think Yuna should have been the gold medalist, but I'm also not so arrogant or obsessive I believe anyone with a contrary opinion must be wrong. :rolleye:

While I agree with the spirit, people have limits. There have been many rebuttals throughout this thread (and others) and we cannot keep answering their same exact demands again and again when all the evidence is already laid out. (it is their tactics, after all - closing their eyes and screaming again and again and again as if answers were never given) I know it is probably too much for you to go through dozens of pages, but I still wanted to let you know, hopefully for your understanding.
 
Ultimately I think most of the people who agree with decision, myself included, don't agree with the margin of victory. Adelina should still have had the 3rd highest PCS (given that Mao skated so early her PCS was even behind Julia and close to Gracie). I think a lot of people don't like Adelina's choreography and find her presentation immature, but she chose a whimsical piece of music and I thought her choreography matched it well. As far as extraneous hard movements, they are not popular with people who prefer more Western choreography, fans of Michelle Kwan. However, a lot of people do like that, otherwise her choreographer wouldn't put in moves that would get her marked down. Adelina appeared to jump bigger than ever, which Sandra B commented on, and she does have a lot of transitional moves. I do think Yuna or Caro would have won anywhere else (Caro if it was in Italy) but that is the nature of these competitions; the judges are very influenced by the crowd reaction and we have seen this so many times. Obviously none of know what is going on behind the scenes, but I can say that nothing I have seen here suggests anything other than home cooking, especially as Adelina and Julia both had monster scores at Euros.
 
Again the same exact argument repeated a bazillion times.. Sigh. Answers are all in this thread and the other ("Judging Conspiracy") thread.

P.S. I will see if I can compile them for one last time.

I have been reading the thread since it was started. I know what arguments have been made. I have also said myself that I think that Yuna ought to have won. However, I also acknowledge that their are contrary opinions in the media, from people who have skated themselves, and am not so close minded I'm going to write off anyone who disagrees with me as being a joke.

The irony is that the know it alls on this board come off as the most ignorant of them all!

Well, I don't think this Olympic experience really made the sport more popular anyways. The men's splatfest to this strange results, but I agree that repeating SLC 2002 will only make matters worse and tbh would get figure skating kicked out of the Olympics.

Johnny will say whatever to save his a** and career. I won't blame him for his comments nor give those any weight.

"Yuna played safe" is a strange and nonsensical argument. All the skaters have their programs pre-planned, hopefully mastered in practice. Every skater's goal is to do their routine cleanly and hopefully in perfection. That's what Yuna did. As far as I know she did not skip anything she had planned. Johnny and Sarah knew her routine way ahead of the event. What do you expect Yuna to do? Improvise her choreo on the spot so that she can wave her hands and thrust her hips to Russian audience in the middle of spins? That's ridiculous. It's not like she'd have received any different treatment from that audience.
