Kimba and her trainer will be leaving KY tomorrow AM en route to the Tampa area to trial for her BH. I will be majorly chewing on the Chocolate Covered Press On Nails suggested here - this is a really important step for her. Her trial is scheduled for Friday afternoon, but she is in the Height of Heat so it's very possible that the judge might make her wait until after EVERYTHING else is done on the competition field (late Saturday) to go. Concern about distracting the males and all.

She might not even get to practice on the field before she trials for real. YIKES!!

This is such an important test for her to pass. Thanks in advance for your support, and for tolerating my unabashed support request!!

yikes yikes yikes,

DG,

Of course we'll root for Kimba. And how I wish we actually had a prototype of those choco nails ready to chew on! :p

I wish we had that prototype too!! I'm gonna be a wreck if the judge makes her wait until Saturday and if the judge won't let her practice on the actual trial field...... <nait biting emoticon goes here>

I still have tiny fingernails left, and Kimba has her BH!!! Whew. Another step taken, but still several more steps to go. We hope Kimba will be trialing for Schutzhund 1 in January!! Thanks again for your support here!!

Thanks JO and Childfree! Boy this judge had a sharp pencil too. That made the "pass" even sweeter! There were so many things that made this trial challenging. Kimba is in full standing heat (read, goofy). There was NO practice field accomodation at this trial, even though it was a national trial. Our trainer had to practice with her at an open lot she found behind the Outback Steakhouse, and try to avoid all the fire ant mounds. The person handling the dog on the field while Kimba was doing her long down was a novice (or had a brain fart). At the end of that team's routine, she started WILDLY praising her dog before the judge had givin the "nod" to release Kimba from the long down, hence Kimba broke the long down and we lost all the points for that exercise. Kimba needs to learn to stay down no matter what, but as a courtesy between handlers, creating extra distraction just isn't done. (but at least the other handler realized what she did, and apologized to our trainer later) Thank goodness we did the other stuff well enough where that loss of points didn't matter in the end.

WHEW Again!!
