Russian Junior and Senior Test Skates

Veronika.Z music is way too powerful for her skating, she is not Trusova yet.
I do like the dress tho.

It's ridiculous that 13 y/o girls are being forced by the ISU to attempt 3axel-TRIPLETOE instead of just having the option of upgrading the required 2axel. What's with the ISU? They want to burn out and destroy little girls' bodies before they even make it to Seniors? And then they want to raise the age limit so all these little bodies will be destroyed by the time they are 17/18? Good call, ISU and those who support age restrictions. *eyeroll*

It makes no sense to put such pressure on young girls to expect them to attach a 3toe onto a 3axel at 13 y/o. And really the risk is NOT worth the reward. At least if they only had to upgrade the solo 2Axel to a triple the point difference is substantial. But switching a Lutz to an Axel in a combo is really not worth it, because not only do you have to land the 3axel you then have to land a 3toe after it or it doesn't work out mathematically. A 3lutz-3toe is worth more than a 3axel-2toe. (Just the ISU trying to burn out little girls before they even hit puberty. Great job ISU and to those who support raising the age limits.)

This is indeed one rule that makes zero, zero sense. I mean, I can accept ‘no quads for ladies yet in SP because of rarity’, but why junior ladies specifically cannot use single 3A, but can combo it… beats me. I don’t understand the logic. I guess, maybe it artificially reduces the scoring differences in the short in 3A vs 2A and forces performance of 2A, but it’s a convoluted logic

They are not forcing anyone. 3A+3T being legal is not specific rule for juniors. It's hole in the rules which gifted juniors are abusing nowadays. At the time required jumps rules for junior SP were made - it was deemed impossible to jump 3A for junior girls. So they wrote as required element 'triple jump combination' completely ignoring the fact that 3A is considered triple jump as well. Since then situation changed - but you know how ISU is extremely slow and conservative organization? If they allowed using mp3 flash drives instead of CD disks for music only this year - it would be naive to expect them to change required jumps rule this soon )) Maybe 10 or 20 years later they will begin to think about it, who knows?
So it's not that ISU wants to torment juniors with hard jumps combinations. ISU expects them to not do it at all. You can consider it as factual ban of quad throws in pairs skating. On paper they are not banned - but their cost is so low that you can consider them banned as nobody doing them. So if juniors are willing to risk so much for mere point of advantage - blame them for it (or extremely high level of competition forcing them to do it), not ISU. That wasn't their intention after all.
That said, I completely agree with you that single 3A (and quads too) should be allowed in juniors girls SP long time ago - since they are going to jump (and train) them anyway - in FP. And if ISU is so concerned about juniors health - why allowing such jumps in FP? And if they are not considering it health-related and allow them there - why not allowing them in SP? There is indeed hole in their logic there.
Just got home and catched up. ALL the girls were wonderful.
What a rare opinion. All I read everywhere is how boring and awful these test skates/programs were.

Just catching up on the young men in HD! With resolution! I am still wondering if the team has one hairdresser… but the absence of Queen is encouraging! Also really liked Dikidzhi’s skate. Zonov’s spin in the end was great 😊. Gonna try to follow Popov’s competitions this year if possible, I think he is fun.

Kaganovskaya and Angelopol’s free dance was great 👍

I am on the fence about watching the non-cleaned up stream from today, but I will give it a shot. Really missing Samodelkina! And curious about Shiryaeva

What time tomorrow are the jr women's LPs and what is the web link? It would be nice to know just what to click and when tomorrow.... Thanks!

I truly hope Sadkova goes clean today as she really needs to impress if she wants a shot at a jgp assignment.

Also really interested to see who and what quads will be atempted today. I would assume the normal candidates Sofia A 4T, Sofia S 4S and Zhilina 4T but im curious if either Sofias will add other quads yet we saw Sofia S train 4T during summer and tried 4Lo multiple times last season. Sofia A had a 4S in 20-21 as well just never tried it in competition and she is currently training for a 4F.

Then you have the question marks like Zinina who has a 4T she tried it multiple times last season under Panova it was normally under, Liza B has a 4T but i wonder if she has it rn as she was injured after jr nats and had the whole coach sufle and then Adeliya who also was shown jumping 4T in practices last season but never attempted it in competition.

Then there are the less likely options but ones we know are learning quads but never saw any footage of a landing like Sofia M, Anna F and Daria S.

I hope so, I see it's starting soon. Hopefully we will see better performances today.. :cheer:
and the stream will be good..
I would also prefer if the person showing the stream would turn off those horrible windows notification sounds but that's probably too much to wish for.. ;)

So who are those random people sitting on the left of the screen, they don't seem to be coaches. And hopefully they're not judging types because half the time they don't seem to be looking at the skaters.
