Russian Junior Test Skates 2023

I love this short, Masha does so well with lyrical programs :love2: Her skating is so beautiful

She looks far more in shape than last years test skates but Im so scared for her jumps . I dont think she is rotating her triples here:(
Definitely not on the combo, but that was much the same last year. I always feel like she and Mia Kalin are kind of twin-like when it comes to that - Ulra-Cs, but issues rotating "just" triples.

My Channel 1 stream is all good now hasn't missed a beat since getting cut with Petrova. I do miss the ability to pause, rewind like with Youtube. I hope it comes back for the rest of the season I'm sure it will.

To be honest, and that's nothing against Masha's program which works very well for her, but after Davydov was very enthusiastic about the uniqueness of his skaters' programs I was expecting maybe a bit more 🙈

Seems like they're working on Tito's Lutz edge, that looked a lot less inside than it used to (or am I imagining things?) - Yes, she popped it, but it's admirable they're even attempting to fix it, if that's the case.

Unfortunately, I'm not so sure if this music is very well suited to skating. Tito is great, and the choreo is good, I'm just not fully convinced yet.

To be honest, I objectively know that Rita is a very good skater, but I just haven't been able to get into her skating so far. Sometimes you just don't klick with some skaters, sometimes it takes some more time to connect.

I like this program, particularly the second half. She looked a lot more into it than I've ever seen of her before, so that's very good to see.

I think it just isn't a very interesting program. And so far today there have been some very interesting and unique programs that I can't wait to watch again. This isn't one of them, although she is a wonderful talent with easy light jumps.

True, there were better programs today, but I still like it for her - Simply because she finally looks like she enjoys skating instead of just going through the motions which has been a bit of an issue for me last season. 🙈

I know that she's very young, and lack of expression is not unusual at her age, but maybe I've just become spoiled by the equally young Elena Kostyleva, Alena Prineva and Valeria Lukashova who are very expressive.:scratch2:

I'm not sure why Elena K. was excluded here, when there are other 12 year olds. I know she is technically 'novice', but she is certainly in the league of the rest of the girls today.

She was born in the second half of 2011 and from what I've heard will unfortunately not be eligible for juniors even domestically this season, so I'm guessing that's why she was excluded.
