I didn't know kids this young do pairs!
Isn't it dangerous for the boy to lift a partner at such young age?

That's okay, I guess. [emoji848] They do just fine so far, except their speed. They're slower than many 6-8 yo girls!

Still ridiculous to think that Moscow has so few spots when they have so much talent...

It's no brainer for me, Akatieva will dominate this one. I like many of the girls our bureau discovered, but Sofia is just something else. :drama:

I am looking forward to Akatieva and Samodelkina the most. A slight edge to Akatieva, I'd say. When it comes to who will win... Well, I think that's between Akatieva and Samodelkina. I hope that whoever wins skates clean.

Younger girls, Elements, Top 4 of 30
1 Sofia Akatieva 52.36
2 Elizaveta Berestovskaya 51.96
3 Sofia Samodelkina 51.20
4 Maria Dmitrieva 49.88

Score is total score for elements (jump, combo, StSq, CCoSp) multiplied by two.

All Top Four have 3Lz, 3Lz+3T, StSq2, CCoSp4, all on positive GOE.
Berestovskaya and Samodelkina tried 3Lz+3Lo, URed, so counted 3Lz+3T.
Maria Dmitrieva (StPetersburg, other three Moscow) tried 3A. UR and fall, but for 10 and half years old girl - good.

Younger Girls, results after Elements and SP, Top 4 of 30.

FPl. Name Points El SP
1 Elizaveta Berestovskaya 111.89 2 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCsNof3lzOY
2 Sofia Akatieva 110.17 1 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52XodT-splU
3 Sofia Samodelkina 107.38 3 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yb8OzCud20
4 Maria Dmitrieva 104.23 4 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SELW_3ddPCE

Novice SP is too easy for these very talented girls, results slightly changed at most on GOE and PCS difference.
Main battle will be at FS, where 3+3 combos are allowed.

And skating in SP of Top5 (including Darya Loboda, score 95.08 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEaMnYYqOq4 ) was very nice. Real pleasure to watch.

It's a shame Sonya Acatieva got ! on her 3flip
Unfortunately, she always deserves it. Berestovskaya's is even worse but at least she doesn't perform a flip in the SP - I don't really understand why Akatieva does, with her outside edge.

I also note that Akatieva was one judge's 1->2 away from getting a bonus on both of her spins. That would actually have placed her ahead of Berestovskaya. Still, it's a very nice achievement for her to even get her spins rated so highly. It's barely even a weakness of hers anymore, even though I'd hope she manages to increase her flexibility just a little bit more.

She also actually got the highest skating skills mark, which I believe is accurate and is nice to see. Quite an improvement here also.
