Russian Qualifiers and other important competitions

Wow, how old is that girl??! It is terrible to think how many hours per day these kids have to train when they are 8/9/10 years old in order to achieve such a level of skating :slink:

All three girls born at 2004.

"Many hours per day" will not help if skater is not very talented.

At most - 1 to 2 ice practices per day (one and half hours each) and about 1-2 hours per day off-ice, 6 days a week.
I means - some days one ice, some days two, and off-ice also some days 1 hour some days 2 hours.
Before most important competitions practice is more intensive, at ordinary time less intensive.
Very young skaters - less intensive, members of Senior and Junior Team Russia - more intensive.

Uliana Titushkina practiced much more intensively than Elena Radionova. Results of Titushkina (one bronze medal of JGP Enent) and Radionova (two times JrWorlds Champion, Champion of Russia, Silver Medalist of GP Final) we know.

Very nice skating of girl born at 2006, no triples (normal for 8 years old), but what a choreo!

Well, this means from two hours and a half to five hours per day 6 days each week (and even more intensively before important competitions): that's "many hours" in Italy when you're 10  (now I understand why these skaters are so good and so young!)

AlexRus are there anymore competitions this season for this age range in Moscow?
In this format - not in Moscow, will be qualifiers in other regions and competion at national level.

For young skaters - there are many competitions in Moscow.
At January will be one competition in Ice Dance and four competitions for singles.

Higher values - for elder (not 10 years old) skaters of National Team.

Yes, of course they work hard, but hard work will not give results without talent.
And to have talented skaters is possible only if there are many of wanting to skate.

Btw, almost all the Ladies competed at Senior Nationals this season (including all of Top6), have medals of Zhuk Memorial.

Thank you for these very interesting pieces of information Alex, you're always so reliable! Do you happen to know how much do skaters like Radionova/Liza/Kovtun train each day? (I mean, how many sessions they do on ice and then off ice) I assume that the ISU biographies are obviously not very accurate...

Can you list what National Level competitions they could be competing in? I want to see more of Sherbakova.

They are in the same league as Kostner and work hard as she did.

At most - 5 days a week two ice sessions (1.5 hours each), one day one ice session, plus off-ice one to two hours. One day a week for rest (it may or may not be Sunday).
Kovtun and Sotnikova have best conditions - only 4 skaters at ice rink.
All others - about 20 skaters, including very young skaters who don't control situation and may disturb other skaters.

Radionova - less practice than others. She is very talented but lazy, has problems with her coach because she often doesn't work hard at practice.
Her results look absolutely fantastic if to know, for example, that before GPF she was seriously ill (and was planned to WD) and had only about two days of practice after illness at her ice rink before flight to Barselona, and in Barselona she was not fully healed.

I'm pretty sure her surname should be romanized "Shcherbakova".
Natural beauty and grace - if she get those jumps together, she will be breaking hearts in the audience few years from now.

what happen with Sotnikova test?????
Before SrNats were planned test skates for Sotnikova, Volosozhar/Trankov, Bobrova/Soloviev at 15 Jan 2015.
If results at SrNats of some pretenders to Euro would be nt so good and some of mentioned above skaters/couples would restore and show good skating at test skate, could be substitutions at Euro.

But skating of all pretenders to Euro spots was good at SrNats, and mentioned above skaters/couples did not fully restore.
So Federation solved not to perform test skate.

Thanks AlexRus. Then, she don't have option for Worlds?''
There will be Senior B's before Worlds. And 24-28 Feb will be Final of Russian Cup, where she may show her level.
In 2013 Leonova won Final of Russian Cup and got Worlds, the same Pogorilaya in 2014.
Adelina has a chance too.

Test skating at January 15 was planned to solve about Euro, not Worlds.

PS Being first at Final of Russian Cup does not mean Worlds automatically. It is needed to show higher level than other pretender(s), including level that they did show at Nats, Euro etc.
