I feel that Sarah has well-thoughtout choices of music and cares a lot about her presentation. To me, her performance is interesting and a real joy to watch.:) I am wondering why she doesn't get higher PCS. Does anyone know? What might she need to do to increase her PCS in the next seasons?

I agree that she is slow. But I also agree with Bennett that she is a very pretty skater to watch. I really liked her long program last year (partly because I'm a fan of both Pride and Prejudice and Joe Hisaishi) and her short program this year. I think she really does put the effort to look for music suited suitable for her as she has some fresh music choices. Also, I think she expresses the music quite well.

But I think Uncle Dick's comment about her 2006 SA LP was correct: she is a very pretty skater, but she should make more dramatic movements that make more of an impact. Her movements are rather small, and are not really attention-grabbers, and judges like dramatic movements. But it's part of her style, and I for one, enjoy watching her.

Of course, another factor of her relatively low PC's is that she is quite slow, and now speed is a major factor in PCs. Even though I'm only a casual fan, I think that all the branches of the PCs are actually about the same score regardless of the skater's actual performance in that category. As she's slow and gets low PCs for one department, it sort of drags the others down too, IMO.

I agree that she might be slower than others. I also agree that she is not that dramatic, but that it is the part of her style.

Perhaps she could bring in some strong part to make a contrast? I feel that having something really sharp and strong somewhere in the program can accentuate her overall fresh, delicate presentation. Jeff Buttle, for example, has a wider variety of expressions.

Nonetheless, I really love her LP and SP this season. They are very well-thoughtout and has sophisticated styles of her own. I agree with Vincero that she must be making a lot of efforts to find out music that really fits her well. This year's LP music is very interesting. SP music is tasteful and lovely.

Her performance at 2006 Worlds was excellent and the best I've seen from her. She should have placed 2nd in the LP with that.

I like her for her gentle style too. While dramatic movements are nice, her understated expression is a breath of fresh air amongst the "Look at me!" arm flailing. The same goes to her choice of music.

And I think if the PC's are judged correctly, she should have a higher score in interpretation than in other departments, as I do think she connects well with the music.

(Off topic: I love her soft 3-2-2 )

ITA about her understated expression. And true, she is really excellent at interpretation even if she might be a little bit slower than other top skaters.

I feel that she has practiced a lot this season. I am hoping that she will perhaps bloom at Euro and Worlds:agree: If she has cleaner programs, that may help her presentation to be even more appreciated.:)
