Satoko Miyahara

Best of the night. I am so pleased. Ended the whole evening on a high note.
Satoko and Yuzu were the heros of NHK Day 1

What a brilliant performance! I want to cry... The result deserves her long time effort....

Satoko deserves more love! Her SP was fabulous, and I'm glad she could perform cleanly in front of the home crowd. Many people counted her out on making the GPF and performing well, so I hope this performance helps remind people that she's the reigning silver medalist and can deliver amazing skates! (I'm still sad she didn't break 70 points, but whatever :)). I love her FS, so I'm wishing her the best. She might even win NHK!

This. GO SATOKO!

:hap85: I have been a fan of her since JO because she was brilliant at it, I was surprised at that I didn't expect such good from her tbh.

Thank you for saving the ladies' event Tiny Queen Satoko! Congratulations for your well deserved gold medal and GPF ticket! :hap10:

Tiny queen truly is a queen! Congrats Slaytoko, both on breaking your Personal Bests and fulfilling your goal of qualifying for GPF! :)

Gorgeous Satoko :hap93:
I feel that she's like a blooming flower in her career right now. She used be slightly robotic, but now I see a soul spring up during her skate. So beautiful to watch.

Congratulations to Satoko! Looking forward to seeing her at GPF.
NHK announcer said that she's 150cm now and that she wants everyone to know!:yes2:

thank you for a beautiful performance with pure spirit... 2 nights in a raw... I'll never forget them... she gave me a power.

I think I've officially started to become a fan of Satoko. I watched her last year because she was one of the top skaters, and while I did discover why people were so crazy over her, I wasn't like that at all. But after seeing both her programs this season, I loved them right away. Her Firedance SP is just loads of fun and it reminds me a lot of Akiko's Firedance SP, which was absolutely gorgeous. The joy that Satoko has when she is skating along with the smile on that final pose is just . And her FS...this is probably my 25th time saying this but it's my absolute favourite program of this season. It's so complete, emotional, and shows us everything that Satoko is capable of doing. In fact, it is probably my favourite program from her (even beating Miss Saigon). At NHK, she stood out more than anyone else (along with Mirai) and it was so refreshing. People say that her small jumps are distracting, and while they were (and honestly still are), I've learned to start looking at the positives of a person's skating. Figure skating is not all about jumps. There's spins, footwork, artistry, packaging, etc. Satoko and her team are just so good at making near-perfect preparations for her seasons.

I'm so excited that she is going to the GPF! That was my top wish before NHK because 1) I really like seeing first-timers at the GPF (who haven't qualified before) and 2) Satoko was so close to qualifying last year. I'll be cheering for her!

With all the Hanyu love that's been occupying my day, I feel like I have neglected to say this: WELL DONE, and congratulations, Satoko. Your victory may not have been as mind-blowing as Yuzuru's, but it was completely and utterly deserved. Hurah for your GPF spot!!
Also, is Satoko the most consistent ladies figure skater out there? :-)

Minus her performance at COR, I think Rika could give her a run for her money in the consistency department :) But Satoko's consistency is very good. Last season I only remember her falling once, although other performances had minor issues. Satoko may be shy and quiet in person, but she's definitely a fighter on the ice! I see she's gunning for that national title again :) I'm glad she could qualify for the GPF this season because she barely missed it last time. Hopefully she can show up everyone who counted her out!

Just stopping by to say CONGRATULATIONS, SATOKO!!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo: I'm soooooooo glad you're headed to the Final!!! :hap93:
