Satoko Miyahara

I will say nothing about the scores because it will just upset me more. All I will say is that Satoko had one of my favorite performances of the night and that I'm very proud of all that she has accomplished this year. Well done and I'm looking forward to more amazing programs next season. :luv17:

I love that program. She should be proud of how she skated. A gem of a program. Well done, satoko. You can only control how you skate, not how you are marked.

She had nerves of steel to skate like that after Evgenia's world record breaking score. Well done young lady. She finished 3rd in the FS segment so she will get a small bronze medal. But her PCS was 6th overall...

Reliable and consistent as ever! And Japan keeps 3 places for next year, thanks to Satoko!

She had an amazing season. Silver at the GPF, gold at the 4CC, she is on her way up and she can deliver in any kind of circumstances. Looking forward to seeing her compete one last time at TCC and watching her progress step by step.

Satoko got hosed in the PCS as usual. I was expecting 140+ with that amazing skate, but I guess the judges wanted to leave room... But she accomplished a lot this season, such as 4CC Champion and GPF silver medalist. One day I can dream that she'll get deserved PCS... :P

Yes at least that's the good thing but no Japanese woman on the podium since 2015 makes me sad. But Marin Honda won the Junior World Championship.

I just watch her FP. I don't know but for me the jumps seemed bigger than other times. She delivered so well under such a big pressure. But I don't get why she earned the second highest TES and then the judges gave her so low PCS:confused: Anyway, well done Satoko!

At the last couple of competitions, 4CC and GPF, her PCS were around 67. She got 66 at Worlds so it wasn't a major drop from what the judges are accustomed to give her. The problem is that six other skaters got bigger PCS and I'm pretty sure not all of them deserved it. I really don't know what to think, I just assume this is the judges' way to punish her for her jumps. And yet people still complain that she's overscored.

Charlie White himself said he didn't understand why Satoko got such low PCS. That means a lot to hear something like that.

I won't forget the positive: two clean programs, she remained the Tiny Queen, the "Miss Perfect" who doesn't fail to deliver, no matter what the judges decide to give as marks. Great job, Satoko! I know it's not what you were hoping for, but you delivered and show the World that you should never be counted out. Love you!

just dropping by to say satoko's skating is absolutely exquisite in person. This was my first time seeing her live, and I think she has great projection in the huge arena. The contrast between her tiny frame and the big space she had to fill made her skating look even more graceful, delicate, and precise than what i remember from tv. People talk about who is going to be the next ballerina on ice a la Oksana Baiul or Sasha Cohen, and I think Satoko fits that description! I won't comment on scoring b/c i don't really understand it myself, but she should be very proud and happy with her performance at Worlds!

It took all these days to forget the anger about Satoko's PCS and the heart attack Yuzu gave to me. It was clear from the beginning , she was n1 target at that WC as the most consistent skater, everything was clear right away after sp scores came. Honestly I don't want to say more. On the good side she has small bronze, can't wait to see her new programs , Go tiny Queen :hap85:
