Satoko Miyahara

Nice interview of Satoko and his coach I also like their relationship pupil / coach he knows well.

I'm curious to know what is this program that Yamato Tamura had planned for her, given his personality I think he had to be crazy XD.

Thank you for this! I am usually a lurker here but I wanted to express my thanks for all the Satoko news! I've loved her since her Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence program, and I am so happy she is healthy again. 🙂🙂🙂

I saw this on Twitter, Satoko has a Kansai University feature. It's in Japanese and most talks about how she started skating, her feelings at Olys and World's and goals for the new season. She looks so cute in the photos!

(I hope it is okay to post these kinds of things, I am not really sure yet how forum posting works. If this is not allowed, please let me know and I will delete it. Thank you!)

its most definitely ok to post this kind of links! thanks! and welcome to GS, post often and long! :yahoo::dance:

I think that it's great that she wants to do that and hopefully this can help their quality. Such conviction to always move forward and progress is what makes me respect Satoko so much. If she gains more leg strength and try to fix her take off, hopefully thinks will work out for her. Also, this probably isn't really possible anymore, but do you think that she might try to learn to jump in her natural direction? I know, that she does doubles in the reverse direction. Also, I am a bit worried that she will be in a situation like Mao was, while she was reworking her jumps, completely losing her consistency and probably even lose some of her reputation. Still, it's great that she is trying to be better and works constantly on improving herself. This, with the fact that she wants to challenge herself artistically, should be a sign to the naysayers that she deserves all of the love and respect that she's getting and she is, although wit flaws like everybody else, a great skater.

It will probably depend on what she and her team does to bring about the change. Most likely, she will lose some consistency, though the timing is better for her body, I think? Because she is still re-learning her jumps as she was out due to injury for quite a while. I hope they succeed, because I really want the best for her. Am more worried about the potential toll on her body though, what if she gets injured again due to overtraining? I remember in the NBC commentary for SkAm 2017, Johnny was saying he watched Satoko practice and he felt like she was doing too much jumping. But it could also be a difference in how Japanese and Americans train?

It could be, but still, there's the risk of overdoing it. They have mentioned that another such injury would mean the end of her career, so I am really hoping that they take really good care of her body and be really careful. They have no other choice. Satoko has spoken in interviews that she is resting her body more, I also thinks that she is doing less run-throughs. Hopefully they follow the principle quality over quantity. I remember that Meagan Duhamel mentioned in her interview with TSL that she should spend a month only on doubles and gain strength in her calves and thighs. I am really hoping that they follow a similar approach. Yes, her jumps will never be of the size of Kaori or Wakaba for example, but with better technique, she will be able to fix those pesky URs and the prerotation.

I'm glad she's trying out new things in his jumps and choreography, I hope this will work because we know how hard it is to rework his jumps from scratch so good luck to her.

Given that she is preparing her programs then I think we will see them at The Ice, but I will not say no to see them in two weeks :).

Seeing her dedication and determination makes me respect her more and more constantly. A hard-worker that is mainly given credits for failures or 'gifted judging' which just pisses me off to no boundary...I wish her nothing but the best, strength and perseverance in realising her aim, I am waiting for new programs and get ready to be amazed again:)

Hi, Tiny Queen fans, wanted to share a "rumor" heard on TSL's latest video. Yes, those guys are miserable and I had to sift through tons of inconsequential chit chat and attitude, to finally find some good juicy bits of info, albeit being rumors only, but still good to know

Not going to post link, but in case you want to check it out, the rumor starts at 54:19

TSL latest video: Dave: I’ve heard rumors. We know she (Satoko) is doing a Tango. I heard a rumor it’s going to be the Eight Seasons, of Grand Prix Final fame, of Jeremy Abbott. Which will be stunning. A Tom Dickson tango and mature Satoko.

They mentioned that there is some video floating around of footwork sequence, but it was kind of out of context. So if there are any dedicated fans out there, they can go hunt it down and share it here. ;) Can't wait to see her new program in action! I bet the new costume will be stunning.

Interesting. She's doing a few ice shows so we might see new programs there! (Heroes and Future this weekend and The Ice in July) I was hoping she would do something more modern because she said hip-hop in an interview iirc. Am so excited to see what she's going to do!
