Satoko Miyahara

I am in love with the tango. Honestly she feels so different when she skates to it. The shy girl is turning into this gorgeous woman and I cannot wait to see the FS evolve. I also really like the SP, although some of the music cuts bother me. The FS is a winner for me and this is just the beginning of the season. She has this wonderful aura around her and expresses well the sensuality of the tango. I feel like she skates bigger and with more power than she used to. I also feel like the lutz is better, not sure about the rest of the jumps though. Is it only me or has she gained a bit of muscle as well? She is probably working on her strength because of her jumps. I am overall very excited about Satoko and cannot wait to see what she will show us during the season.
 
I love both of Satoko’s new programs!! It’s really disheartening to see some people write off the reigning WBM because of the new GOE rules. With these programs, her unmatched musicality, and her palpable drive to push herself technically and artistically, I think she is a safe bet for a spot in the GPF and on the world team as well. And even if she isn’t, I’m just happy to watch and appreciate the masterclass in artistry that is the Tiny Queen’s skating.

I saw those comments as well and wanted to reply but I refrained from it because it's not like we haven't been hearing these comments from people for years. At this point, you either like Satoko's skating or you don't. I do think it is sad that there are still people who think she is not deserving of her scores or of placing in the GPF because of her jumps, it's not like she was receiving high GOEs for her jumps before. I am happy that we are all here in the FF and can celebrate and enjoy Tiny Queen! Only 34 more days to US Classic now!
 
TSL just uploaded their video of Satoko's practice when she was still learning her choreography of the Piazzolla Medley.

Here is the separate video of the FS performance from "The Ice"

It's amazing to see the wonderful progression and how polished she looks in that lovely dress/costume, which will probably be changed when competition starts. :luv17:

ok, so she actually is planning to do 3F2T2Lo and one at The Ice wasnt because of 3lz mistake :dbana: she not only does 3F in SP but also in combo in LP, thats gutsy as expected from Tiny Queen :laugh:

I'm way behind the curve but I finally watched Satoko's programs: :clap: I have not even began to wrap my head around all of the details of the FP. Definitely getting excited for the season now. :yahoo:

Hello! I think the video was for a benefit, as part of activities for the 2011 earthquake recovery efforts.
I saw news that Satoko and Rika had new exhibitions choreographed by Stephane, although it doesn't seem certain. They all seem to be having fun with Team Champery though. :)

US Classic is in a few days! I am cheering and excited for our TinyQueen! :luv17:

On US International Classic: “I’m looking forward to it!”

On her injury: “This off-season I was able to practice a lot.” According to Mie Hamada, they checked the injury at the hospital and it’s fully healed. Unlike last season, when she was focused on rehabilitation, she is now doing a lot of on-the-ground training for “reinforcement”. “I still have to skate, but I want to be able to do my best. This is my season of reset. I would like to challenge various new things.”

On her new SP: “I want to skate with the feeling of wanting to become a movie star.”

Due to Typhoon Jebi, she was not able to practice at the Kansai University rink for a while. “I thought I should keep practicing and do my best regardless of such conditions.”
 
I love Satoko's new programs this season. They have potential to be regarded as masterpieces if she nails them. I can't wait to see them in competition. :)
 
Satoko's grey dress for the SP is soooooo Beautiful! Possibly my favorite dress of the season. Congrats on winning the SP, even with the tech calls.
 
I really like Satoko's new SP- it's lovely. I hope that getting all 3 triples called under rotated isn't a trend though. Overall I've thought her jumps looked better last year.
 
Finally found a video and just finished watching Satoko's SP. Just as delightful as expected! Congrats on the win. The color of the gorgeous dress, which even Jackie Wong proclaimed to be the most beautiful, looks a bit different than on the ice show clip, due to different lighting. Looks like periwinkle tinged with gray. So elegant, lovely and demure. Great match to the mood of the music. Looking forward to seeing the tango medley soon!

very nice program. for me one of the best this season so far.
shame about the jumps. but she will improve. she is a little fighter:clap:
 
You're welcome, iorii :) I wonder what Coach Hamada said to Satoko in the Kiss & Cry? She talked for a long time while Satoko tried to soak it all in. :biggrin:
