Senior Ladies' Free Skate

Drat, if Emily weren't injured and skated her best, she'd probably be atop the podium tonight...........42

I think the only one guaranteed a Worlds spot is the champion and only if she's age eligible. The others can be chosen. It'll be interesting to see if Kimmie is chosen over others. I wouldn't mind if she was chosen to go to Worlds personally, but it would stir up some controversy I'm sure. Poor Kimmie. :frown:

Well if the JSF can send Miki Ando to the Olympics with a sixth place nationals finish...
Yeah but look what happened to Miki at the Olympics. If Shizuka hadn't won, there would have been much more of an uproar about it - Miki was lucky the attention was off her.

Rachael Flatt

She is precious. Can jump with the best of them but needs to work on her line and extension. Programs need to be better choreographed. A ton of potential here.

I agree. I strongly suggest Kimmie get a bye. It's going to be a rout if she's not on the team.

If Kim doesn't stay on her feet consistantly, she'd be little help at worlds for U.S.'s team.............42

Ok, Rachel Flatt rocks... got a standing O and deservedly so. hit her jumps, spins, etc...her footwork might need to up a level or two to really contend; she might need a bit more speed. I don't quite know how to say this: she is really really good - and gives off a feeling like a walk in the park; but, she doesn't grab me and I don'[t think she grabbed the audience of commentators...it's wierd, because her line and extension is great, her jumps spot on, it's all there yet there is this strange intangible thing that isn't there.

anyway, music was some Gershwin type piano music....I think she is quite pleased (and should be) and her team seem thrilled. Oh and she has braces -- it's wierd because she has the presence of an adult woman, then she flashes a smile and you see 'the kid' in her. She does, regardless of my hesitation, have a bright future.. And, I so enjoyed her last year at Nationals (getting 5th in her first senior debut), and now again she just proved she is consistent and a real competitorl. Congrats to Rachel.....don't know scors yet

I agree... I seem to recall all the talk about why Miki had been sent over others who had finished above her and had a good change at finishing higher than 15th (?) at the Olympics. If Kimmie skates really well at Worlds, then everything's fine, but if she had a meltdown, her critics might (and probably will be) harsh...

Kimmie

I think Kimmie has lost all of her confidence because of her competition. I think she feels like she can't compete with the new crop of skaters. I believe much of what is happening is mental and not technical. You can see the fear when she steps on the ice. I feel terrible for her. I hope she can pull it together.

Hey guys, go to Icenetwork's homepage, Mao Asada has sent Mirai Nagasu a message in Japanese saying "Good Luck"

OMG so sweet.

Wagner up now. kind of sleeveless dress (but has that skin color sleeve thing going on, it's sort of black boddess with some red and tan). don't know the music yet.

Even though I love Caroline to pieces and always will, definitely props to Rachael for the great skate. HUGE scores!
