D&D's performance continues to deterioriate. Only a 2S, fall on th3loop, stumble on steps, their sbs spin is no longer as good as used to be...

I hope judges won't hold them up again and again... I'm not holding my breath though.

Good call, 54 pts....

I'm excited that L/H might get a gold... L/H should have scored more than 62 pts considering the 2nd place finisher scored 61 pts.... They are by far the best team tonight.

Wow, this really appears to be a crossroads for Jessica Dube. I think she is going to have to pick a point of focus between pairs and singles skating in order to be successful. I don't see how she can possibly juggle both at Nationals the way she is doing. It makes you wonder if she was somehow conserving her energy for the ladies' SP, which takes place right after this pairs event. I'm sad to see this happen to them. They are capable of much more than what was shown tonight! :(

I don't think D&D have made any progress this season despite their good international results at SA/SC... Especially if you compare them to other teams.

Anabelle Langlois / Cody Hay have added a 3twist, sbs 3t, sbs 3s, th3lutz, these are pretty high value elements....

Meagan Duhamel / Craig Buntin also have sbs 3t, 3s, th3lutz...

If D&D just want to coast on their PCS, they'll be in a big hole...

Now wouldn't that be a story. Jessica conserves her strength, wins the gold, goes to Sweden and leaves Bryce twisting in the wind. No  I can't even think about that.

Quite shocking for D/D. Personally, I think it's the pressure getting to them — the expectations of the country — rather than any conserving of energy on her part. She knows where she stands in each event — a star in pairs, a middle of the pack Canadian ladies skater in the other. I hope they can pull it back together for the LP. I still think they're Canada's best shot internationally (as long as they don't skate like that, of course).

Great for Langlois and Hay. I've thought them undermarked all season, so great to see them on top.

Don't be ridiculous! Of course, I didn't mean she somehow is going to beat Joannie and Mira at Canadians. I mean, seriously, who is stupid enough to believe that would happen? The reality is she is skating in both pairs and ladies and doing one right after the other, she obviously has to feel exhausted. It's a lot of pressure juggling both, especially back to back the way the schedule is set up at Nationals. She's a human; not a machine. Kristi Yamaguchi eventually had to make a decision between singles and pairs and I think that same choice is soon going to be inevitable for Jessica. Obviously, I think she should choose pairs given their record of success and potential as a team.

i am so happy for L/H! They are such a fantastic pair and have really proved themselves in the short. i really hope that they can be canadian champions this year!

Nice to see Langlois and Hay step up and look so confident, although dressing in black doesn't help Cody with the issue of fading into the background. And is Annabelle's 6 pack new? I don't think I've noticed that before. Girl could crack walnuts on those abs!

Great skating tonight...except for D/D. Although I've never been a fan of Langlois, I was impressed with their performance tonight and hope they can keep it at the same level in the long program. Also impressed with D/B...after such a short time together! I felt bad for D/D. Does anyone know if something is wrong...injury/illness/etc? I know there are some posters on this board who clearly dislike this team, even though they have proven their ability nationally and internationally. I question what was wrong tonight as such a poor performance is so out of the ordinary for them. Hope they can come back as they are our highest ranked (and, at this point, most consistent internationally) pairs team.
