I love how Shoma's become a bit of an extrovert since the first time we saw him on the senior's competition. I used to find him like the antithesis to Yuzuru, but slowly I can see that he's opening up.

Loved his reactions in the K&C. Gracious loser if I ever saw one.

It is a shame that Shoma missed the podium. But I think that can be a good thing. I am sure this will motivate him more for the worlds which is, we all know, the most important event of the season. I feel for young skaters, they are often able to bounce back even higher following a unsatisfying performance. I am confident that Shoma will do well in worlds. :agree:

He's one of the most talented Japanese skaters right now, quad while still 17 is impressive. I think that he makes the same "error" on his toe-jumps as his countrywoman Miyahara - pre-rotation and that is why I am not on his bandwagon. What do you think about his jump technique?

Not being a jump expert, I sense that his jump technique is not the best, he saves a lot of his jumps with a deep knee bend (sometimes I worry about his bones - such stress). Right now I have two favourites - Shoma and Michail Kolyada and I think Mikhail's technique is superior to Shoma's. But when I watch Shoma perform I forget all about it - he is just incredible, and so cute in the K&C too!
