Perhaps he’ll wait until summer officially starts before he says anything. This isn’t negative at all but if Shoma announces retirement (which I strongly think he will) it’ll be great news because he is moving into the next chapter of his skating life and life in general. If he sticks around to compete, great but it would seem the chances of his retirement are strong given what he and Stéphane have said this past season. He’ll still be around either way and we can look forward to whatever he gives us.
no need to even think about retirement. If Shoma retires, we will have 4ever to be sad about it... enjoy the run until then.
Up until that time, he had been using his earlier SPs for his EX. The most moving skate of it was when he skated it as a tribute to Denis Ten. Sheesh, he was only 18 and looked like a little kid, I guess he was. The tribute was done before the start of a Disney ice show, I believe. It was sad but a kind gesture on his part.
