"Skate From The Heart" will air on NBC from 4:00 - 6:00 PM if you live on the east coast and from 1:00 - 3:00 PM if you live on the west coast. Check your local listings if you live somewhere in between. :agree:

YAY! Can't wait to see this one :party:, and I happen to :love: Celtic Woman too. NBC, don't mess up this broadcast this time (like you did with the Music of Seal on Ice on New Year's Day). :scratch:

Thank you so much! You made my day!! I was just going to do stuff at home and now you made it a little more exciting!:clap:

I LOVED Skate for the Heart! It was a real win-win viewing...My DH LOVES Celctic Women so we both watched the airing and enjoyed it.
I think this show was really well put together. No real big emphasis on the Celctic Women but you still got to see them and appreciate their lovely voices. Katia's performance was beautiful and it was great seeing Josef S. do something besides Springsteen!
:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This was a beautiful show and I'm glad NBC actually showed the entire thing this time! ;)

I agree, the balance between the skating and the musical performers was much more balanced this time. You Raise Me Up was perfect for Katia to skate to. And her number in honor of Sergei brought tears to my eyes, as did Somewhere Over the Rainbow. That was beautiful! Good show!

Katia skating always makes me cry... and even though everybody has skated to this song... it really fit katia!

I also really like patrice and lazon's "fire" number. very sexy and modern and just very good chreography.

That was one of my husbands favorite performances. I told him "you'll get to see them live at SOI this year, our first time seeing them, maybe they'll do that number".

I guess I'm going to have to be the old curmudgeon here and say the show fell quite flat with me, even though I liked the music AND we got to see a lot more of the skaters than the Winonna show, etc.

Am I alone in really detesting Shae-Lynne Bourne's solo numbers? And I always was a Bourne-Kraatz fan. Guys, tell me, is it just her looks or something that are getting her these invitations to be in Disson shows? Cause I find the numbers painful to watch and, when not irritating, boring. She just seems to be piddling around on the ice, like kids showing off their favorite non-regulation tricks during down moments in training. Or if she's not doing that, she's vamping.

And although Caryn Kadavy is a lovely person, I just don't think she's brought anything new to the ice in a long, long time. And I actually didn't think Katia was very compelling, either -- though I must've been having a snack break during the Sergei tribute # -- I only saw You Lift Me Up (which sounds like a tribute number, was that it? but I didn't catch any mention of Sergei). Anyways, I've previously always enjoyed Katia before. And clearly, from the comments here, she stills strikes a chord with a lot of fans.

Maybe I was in a bad mood or something. The big standouts, though, for me were Patrice and Marie-France's numbers. It's really amazing how much I'm enjoying them in these shows, as I've not enjoyed their competitive skating nearly as much. They are fun to watch, exuberant, but not over the top.

I don't generally like show skating, particularly all these interchangeable Disson specials. But this one touched me.

The number Katia dedicated to Sergei was the first number she skated to. I think it was called The Prayer or something, but it wasn't the same song I've heard in the past called The Prayer, so I'm not sure. She talked about dedicating this song to Sergei since he had died of undetected heart disease at such a young age and they showed some footage of she and Sergei skating together.

Thanks for the clarification. I missed this part, obviously.

It's just you. I happen to adore Shae Lynn Bourne skate. I could watch her all day. She is one of the top skaters in the world even though she doesn't jump much. Even Kurt said the same thing that is his opinion Shae Lynn is in the top three skaters in the world. That is evtremely high praise. She is extremely athletic and brings more to skating than others would.

I would also add that it is an insult that you would would actually imply that it is her looks that are getting her the invitations. Yes she is beautiful but she is a tremendous skater as I have already said. She has the best edges in the world and her deep knee bends leave me in awe. There is more to skating than the jumps. I would watch her over 95% of the skaters anyday.
