My pleasure!

And yes, nobody promotes figure skating better than the Japanese do  They look like the intro of an epic trilogy of movies or something like that.

What a great collection! It'll take me awhile to look at them all (a couple are familiar to me, but not all) but I'm very thankful to see the "Sweat" video...I've seen gifs from that performance but never the whole thing.

Have you seen this hip-hop number from Friends On Ice 2010? It's all the boys...Daisuke, Takahiko, Takeshi Honda, etc. Evan Lysacek is also there dancing very awkwardly...it's quite a sight to see. At least Dai can dance hip-hop, or just about any style for that matter.

It's a pleasure to share them all, especially the Sweat video if it's the first time you're seeing the whole thing

I've seen the hip hop number a while ago, but it's really good to see it again! I love Daisuke, Takahiko and Takeshi's little group dance. And then you see Evan Lysacek looking like a tall stick in comparison to them  It's true, Dai can dance to basically anything he wants to and I'm sure doing the Cyberswan in the past has helped him pull off another hip hop number like this one.

Thanks once again, Ioanap. I am grateful for your knowledge of all things that are Daisuke.

Does someone mind translating this or pointing to a translation? I love watching team Japan converse casually together even if it is interview mode.

Akiko: Dream on Ice has start and it feels like the season will start soon! What do you think?
Kana: What do you think? (let Yuzu answering first)
Yuzu: What do you think? (want to give it back to Kana) (laugh)
Well, it actually feel like the season has started. Especially it's a very important season because of the Olympic. But I always feel that the season has start while performing at this show(DOI).
Akiko: This show always makes us nervous yea?
Kana: it is!

Akiko: Have you all done with your choreography?
Yuzu: Mine is still stuck on the short program.. I'm having a hard time right now.. but, you guys done with it?
Kana: We did. (nodding)
Yuzu: So fast!!
Akiko: Kana and me did the choreo and finished at the same time, so we went for bbq, right?
Kana: Yes, it was fun!
Akiko: it was fun!
(couldn't catch what Yuzu said here)

Akiko: What kind of season do you want it to be?
Kana: it will be my first time in the Olympic, so I don't really know how it will turn out..
Yuzu: I think having an Olympic experience is really big, how was it feel that time?
Akiko: Everyone was heading in the same target and direction that time, I think standing strong is the most important thing. I guess people will said many things in front of you, so I think holding on to what you believe is important.

Kana: For me this year I want to appear in the Olympic so I need to calm myself down and compete properly in every competition.
Yuzu: Well, I think I must do the things that I always do so far, plus, being even more careful and do the best for everything.
Akiko: Last week, I decided to make this season as my last so I want to do it with no regret. It will be great if I could end it while feeling glad that I became a figure skater.
Kana: Oh I think I will cry!!
Akiko: You know, even if we are far apart in age, I'm glad that we could practice together. Let's do our best together!
(could catch what Yuzu said to Kana in the end ;_; )

sorry if my English is a little bit messy.

Your English is perfectly fine :) and thank you so much for taking the time to do the translation!

Me too ^^ you get the same amount of information (if not more) but there's just a different feel to it when it's a conversation rather than a regular interview.

^Thank you ionap! Appreciate your effort in finding the best quality videos. Love following the recommended video links in this forum!

BTW following one such link in the off season video suggestions thread, just watched Daisuke's "Garden of Souls" SP in the 2011 NHK and was just blown away! Even the usually loquacious Kurt Browning and Tracy Wilson kept quiet while Daisuke was performing and in the end they said something to the effect that Daisuke's skating said it all for them. :)

I've checked the CBC version of "Garden of Souls" too and I'm not surprised both Browning and Wilson were left speechless. David Wilson and Daisuke made an extraordinary program together. I love the choreography and the step sequence. Everything was right in that performance, from jumps to spins. And loved his reaction at the end when he received his 90 score  When asked what costume did he like best out of all, Daisuke said the "Garden of Souls" costume was his favorite.

Cannot help being reminded of the Friends On Ice version of this program. He's wearing a different costume here but I love the camera angles and his expression.

Wow! The way Daisuke expresses himself to the music even by the movement of his head is simply amazing! Thanks for sharing ionap.
Thanks also for the links to the Kansai University exhibition of its famous skating alumni. :)

As I've said before, it is now confirmed. TV Asahi will broadcast Fantasy On Ice: Makuhari on June 15th starting from 6 PM to 8:54 PM Japanese time. We will most likely get some professional videos and, who knows, maybe a live stream.

Fantasy On Ice: Makuhari (June 6-7)

Thanks for the information demarinis5! Yet another parallelism between Daisuke's and Mao's career: that they will both be not competing this season. There is Yuzuru to carry the torch for Japanese male figure skating (along with Tatsuki and Kozuka), and for the Japanese ladies, I guess the pressure is on Kanako to do well and preserve those Worlds slots. I hope she does the work needed during the off season (not sure whether that will be long enough to fix her jump technique so she won't get those underrotation calls). Anyway, looking far ahead but I for one will be pleased to see her win Japanese nationals this year and have that under her belt before she retires, just like Akiko.

So happy that Mao's finally getting her long needed break.

But this makes me really worried for the Japanese ladies...The pressure is ON for Kanako to maintain those 3 spots.
I'm with Maria, I really want to see Kanako get that national title this year because there are up and coming skaters like Satoko Miyahara on her tail and this might be her last chance seeing as she might not even stay till 2018.

Any chances Kanako decide to change coach and go overseas?

Unfortunately, no. If she didn't do it when she was up and coming and had a lot of potential she won't do it now considering she was thinking of retiring after the Olympics and just decided to stick around because she was unhappy with her performance and Olympics and Worlds. I don't see her as really aiming for the top, but rather, she's aiming to do her best and go out with a satisfying performance; similar to Akiko

I was expecting Mao to take the year off and I'm glad she will be resting. Now we will be waiting for two announcements next year, hers and Dai's. I think Mao can still aim for Pyeongchang and do well so I'm expecting anything, but Dai will most likely make his retirement official.

Team Japan is going to be so empty without Mao, Dai and Akiko. It's very hard to imagine the nationals in December without them.
