Wakaba, Kanako and Shoma are going to Lombardia Trophy. Satoko, Keiji, Reed/ Muramoto to Us Classic. Not sure about the rest.
Rika Kihira, Marin Honda and Kazuki Tomono will be at JGP Slovenia, Yuna Shiraiwa and someone else (I don't understand Japanese) is going to JGP Russia.
Gosh, I need to learn Japanese names

Now I know that I shouldn't believe what the skaters say before the official announcement comes out ;)
Mao said she's going to JO, she got Finlandia.
Shoma said he wanted to go to US Int'l Classics, he got Lombardia.
Wakaba told a fan she's going to Asian Trophy, she got Lombardia.

Oh, I wanted Shoma to get U.S. Classic. 6 times in one year to the U.S.?! And I'm surprised he would want to come here with the long travel distance. Oh well, I plan on going next year to that competition so maybe he will be there next year!

Tokyo / Milan (or well, Bergamo this year) are actually more far apart than Tokyo / Salt Lake City.
Not that 1000 km or something more of flight makes such a difference, but I doubt long travel distance is the reason not to go U.S. Classic.

Sounds like I need to brush up on my geography. There are probably a lot of things that go into the decisions of the JSF, and my guess would be that the skaters' preferences probably don't matter too much in the decision-making process.

Congratulations to Marin on winning the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy.
She posted a photo with Jin Seo, Yuto and Koshiro and another one with Jeff.

Kokoro was in 4th.

Shun Sato and Moa Iwano have also finished with their competitions. Shun was 1st, Moa 3rd. Shun landed a 3A<< in the FS.

Good luck to everyone else tomorrow!

PhotobySaya has been posting beautiful photos from Asian Trophy.
So far, I see Marin and Keiji from TJ, but she mentions Koshiro so I think she’ll eventually post others.

There are so many competitions and shows happening this weekend that I can't keep focus on any of them :hpull: And Rio Olympics isn't helping :hopelessness:

A sneak peek of Mao's SP. The costume is quite bare looking

Marin won gold:hap10: I really like her LP, the ending spins and pose, but please!! someone need to tell her to change that pink costume!
It is so ...ugly and cheesy :hopelessness: especially compare to her red dress from Beetlejuice.

She is definitely the pink gal, but I think she has other ones that are a lot prettier. i always question whether these early costumes are the ones they will keep for the season. Her "Smile" one is beautiful. https://twitter.com/with_jandi/status/755645170998243328

I actually like Marin's dress a lot except for whatever is going on with the sleeves. I think I like her program but I can't wait to see it in better quality (I just can't concentrate well when the quality is bad) I'm pleased she won, we would probably be hearing a lot about it if she lost.

Yuna Aoki competed at a local competition in Yokohama today and she skated to "Meditation" SP from last season. Maybe she dropped "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy - Sing Sing Sing".
Her jump layout was 3Lz-3T(fall), 2A, 3Lo
55.76

Too bad about the fall but at least she's attempting the second 3T and not doubling it or popping it
And I'm actually glad she kept the SP (if she is keeping it) instead of the FS. I really liked her SP last season.

I have a vid of his SP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMVdPle8SCg but blurry :peace:

Thank you so much! :thank: And thanks for the one of Marin too!

Especially this one
I always love her photos.

Congratulations to Marin and Koshiro at Asian Trophy :) If anyone has the links of Koshiro's performances

She takes photos like a pro :luv17: Love your new avatar btw.

Congratulations to Koshiro, Keiji and Yura on their wins and Miu and Ryuichi on their bronze. Didn't think Koshiro could do it, but he's still strong in the FS. Fingers crossed that he'll get a 3A this season.

I’m glad Yura kept her SP from last season. And she did a 2A-3T-3Lo  She got so many URs though.
A short video of her 3Lo-3Lo
