Skaters on Team Japan

Who is the tiny girl wearing a pink leopard dress in the fourth photo?

Miyu Honda

The costume was actually my clue it was Miyu because I am not used seeing her with bangs and her hair up as I was aware she had a new "Pink Panther" program choreographed by Fumie Suguri. Hope to see a video of that program in its entirety as Fumie seemed to have taught Miyu how to really get into the spirit of that program. Miyu is of course always cute and adorable. :) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq0XRqvFBHc&autoplay=1

I think it'is Koshiro.

Some photos of junior and novice skaters from Akiko's blog .
The top photo: from the left, Sena, Koshiro, Sota, Wakaba, Miyu, Marin
They are so cute!!

Thank you so much!

You know well:). Thank you for sharing, Maria.
I saw this program live several days ago, and it’s sure this small and cute pink panther caught the audience’s heart.;)
(And I was a bit surprised she was solid technically.)

Haruka IMAI (July 11, 2015 Saturday, Nagaoka Ice show)

She did 2 programs.
1. Piano Concerto in A-flat major by Saint-Preux.

2. Open Your Wings (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xAfDFcw8Sjs)
New EX? I don’t remember the vocal was Japanese or English..

First of all, she was great! Actually, I talked with an audience after the show, she mentioned Haruka as one of the impressive skaters. (To tell the truth, I was a bit worried about her. The last year was a bit shame for her, and this year she was not invited at FaOI unlike last year.)…

In my memory, she is practicing based on there in Niigata. She might have had the motivation to do nice performance before Niigata’s audience. She was elegant, soft, tender… Her atmosphere was one of a kind. Further, her skating was speedy, seamless, and the landing was smooth (Unfortunately, I didn’t remember whether she did well with her edge (inside or outside) and rotation of jumps…Last year, she got some deduction due to them.). More importantly, she seemed to be fulfilled mentally. I was very glad.
At the begging of her EX, the narrator announced the message of the program like this, “Never give up your dreams, Open your wings.”.
In this EX, she used a chair. The last scene, she sat dawn like a dreaming girl. The program went with her.

Go Haruka!:cheer:

(BTW, @matmuh, do you want to know about Sota? Sota was wonderful, so I want to write about him, but I don’t know if there’s a demand.. If you want, I will post it tomorrow.)

Reading live tweets from various shows, I'm hopeful for the Japanese Guys and Gals this upcoming season.
Mura is landing quads beautifully.
Murakami Dice has a really lovely short program

Yuzu is --Yuzu.
Shoma's programs are both judge and audience friendly and his 3A is solid while his 4T is getting better and better.
Sota's SP is also good and he's challenging the 4T and has landed some good ones in practice.

Rika is branching out artistically with her new SP.
Aoki is looking more mature in her program that I saw in the latest Fantasy on Ice. (and she's only 13!)
Wakaba is skating very confidently

I can't wait to see the rest of the new programs. Maybe we will see something from Kanako on The Ice? And maybe Kozuka will have found himself by then.

I hope Mura isn't peaking too early. If he is, I hope he peaks multiple times during the season.
Will Dice bring out his 4F or 4T?
Will Wakaba bring out the 3A later in the season?
Kozuka will be in PIW from Friday. I'd be so disappointed if he skated to his Flamenco EX from last season again, unless he's going to make it his new SP.
Actually, he's been so busy with his studies that it's not too far-fetched to think that he'd do that

Thank you for your report! Best of luck to Haruka. I love her FS from 2013-2014 so I'm happy to hear that she's bringing it back.

One can only hope and pray with Mura. In any case, he's good for at least 1-2 really good competitions each season.
I think Murakami is going to try to put the 4T and the 4F in his Long program if they are ready.

trying the 3A while still a Junior may be a good plan for Wakaba. There is less on the line as a Junior; best to get out there and try it.

I want Kozuka to Keep his LP, not his Flamenco. -Sorry, I just don't think Kozuka has the right style to skate Latin programs. But his LP from last season was divine!

Mura, oh Mura...

I was thinking above that he might keep his gorgeous FS and change his EX to a SP. I like that Kozuka attempted new things, but I don't really like his flamenco either (I thought you wrote "Kozuka doesn't have the right to skate Latin programs" which made me ). I didn't mind his SP but he didn't seem to connect with it, so no Latin for him I'm afraid.

I hope Mr. Carroll can accompany Dice to as many competitions as possible this season because Dice seems to do better when he's in the venue (with Gracie or Denis )

Sorry, I don't remember it, and I watched it on youtube, but it was different from what I'd watched. So I edited the post!.

I don't know what she skated to in Niigata, but there was an article that said she's bringing this program back for this season and keeping the SP from 2014-2015 :)

thanks hamaguri!! haruka has one of those smiles that warms your heart, i just love her!! it could have been her year last season and could go to worlds , this season is gonna be even harder but i am hopefull! i am glad she has 2 GP assignments, i really enjoyed her SP last season so i am happy that she is keeping it,

Me too. Her skate made people smile. There were many local people at Nagaoka Ice show, who had no experience with watching figure skate live, but they applauded Haruka. I am also glad she gets 2 GS assignment .

Of course, I will report about Sota and Marin (If you want to know about anyone else, please let us know. I love to write a report, but I have a slight hesitation to post it to thread feeling a bit shamed.) Needless to say, who I most want to write about is yuzu. But if I begin writing about him, the report will be surely long:hopelessness:…

BTW, I missed one thing about Nam at Kanazawa. He’d got taller sharply, so he might have lacked stability in his jumps. He seemed to be troubled to take suitable axis. Consistency is his big advantage. So pray for his recovery of jumps! :)
