Skaters on Team Japan

I like Koshiro Tosca too and wouldn’t have minded him keeping it except he said in his interview (posted on his fan thread) that he’s had it for 3 seasons! I just looked up “Koshiro SP” on twitter and found out that his SP will be Quidam. Ryuju’s new FS is also Quidam. Team Japan does it again :laugh2: Let’s just hope they chose different music pieces.

Sena’s 3A was ratified :party2:

New costume? What is that top?

Moa Iwano's protocol from the same competition is impressive too. She did a 3F3Lo.

I've forgotten Koshiro did Tosca for 2 seasons already :hslap:
I was always impressed by how the piece being matched with his skating.

Congratulations, Sena :hap93:
Costume....... I loved his last season's one very much.... Well, anyway, good start for him!

Moa's skating looks elegant and matured to me. 3F3Lo  Young girls are really incredible. I remember how tough it was to master 3T3T for Fumie Suguri, and even for Akiko Suzuki. I also remember Shizuka did second 3Lo somewhere, but she gave up 3-3 at Torino.

Naturally, Koshiro and Sena say, "Young ones these days are unbelievable!!"

Shizuka was still landing a 3S3Lo a couple of weeks ago :eekn: :luv17:

Sena's Yuzuru RJ v.1 looking top was very nice. I guess he must have grown out of that one but... I should wait to see him skate in it though :shock2:

Koshiro and Sena are soooo young but they must be feeling old when watching the novice boys.
Have you seen Haruya Sasaki's videos from Coupe de Printemps? His jumps were falling apart, but he seems very expressive. He is from Team Nagakubo.

There are too many photos to link but here’s a group photo from the banquet.

So you got tickets expecting/hoping/praying to see Shoma and got Mao for free! (just talking about TJ here)
I'd love to go to NHK Trophy this year if it's possible at all but just thinking about the fight to get tickets makes me feel dizzy.

These Davidson Carmichael photos are SO beautiful. I certainly can't complain about Skate America. I am getting to see so many favorites. Hoping Jason's fan base will be there. At 2014 Nationals, his contingent all wore black T shirts with white letters that said TEAM BROWN. And they were VERY vocal! :hap85:...Hope you can go to NHK. The competitor list looks great! It takes away from the fun (a little bit) when the ticket situation is difficult.

David Carmichael’s photos are great. I especially like that he doesn’t post photos where the skaters are jumping (very unflattering faces) or falling. You can tell he really respects the skaters.

I’m 90% positive that I won’t go to NHK Trophy because besides the battle to get tickets, the location is too far from where I live. I’m leaving the 10% open for miracles to happen :drama: But it would be like a dream if I could go. Just looking at the competitors for Ice Dance seem too good to be true and I’m not even an Ice Dance fan (yet). The positive thing about not going to see NHK Trophy is that they show everyone from all disciplines on NHK unlike the other GPs.

I think I remember you and Hamaguri saying it was too cold and too far (Sapporo?). Sometimes seeing the competition on TV is good too, if going is too much hassle...Now I know I am officially crazy -- just bought my All Event pass to Skate Canada and booked my hotel. There are SO many good skaters at SC, I couldn't resist.

:eekn::dbana::gaah::hap10: Good for you! I'm so happy and jealous (as shown on the emoji )
You'll get to see Yuzuru (I hope he's in good shape) and my Yuka (I hope she doesn't head case). And of course Satoko and Rika again! I hope Mura wears an ugly shirt or two for you. He can sacrifice his costumes as long as he does well. An all even pass includes the gala too right? That means you might see Yuzuru's EX for the first time this season and you can tell us all about what he was wearing.

Yes, Sapporo is cold but maybe not as bad in November as in late December to February. It's a perfect place to spend the summer though.

OMG, I completely forgot about Mura! Oh dear, I'm already laughing just thinking about the costume. Loved his flamenco music, so it could turn out to be a good thing. Also very excited to see Mirai N., Evgenia, Patrick, Han Yan, Duhamel & Radford, Kavaguti & Smirnov (hope she is fully recovered from her surgery). I'll have to take notes and promise not to obsess too much about the costumes!

Shizuka is incredible
She looks to be more slender and in a good shape than when she was a competitive skater. It's unbelievable that she has a child. I adore her

Haruya Sasaki ! Yes, I remember his name. I saw his performance for the first time in a show on TV this year (Christmas on Ice 2015? Maybe). I was impressed by his clean jumps, and checked about him right away on the net. It's a pity I cannot find the video now. Shun and Haruya may be the next to come :hap85:

@Arriba627, I'm happy and jealous as well for your going to SC
You are lucky you can avoid the ticket battle happening in Japan. I'm lazy and no guts so I have given up before the battle starts always

The ticket battle can be SO annoying. I have bought tickets for events where I am on the phone for over an hour, the ticket costs a small fortune, and then I have a partial view of the stage. I don't think my Skate Canada tickets are terrific, but they are near the Kiss and Cry. My motto is always "I was in the building", so I will get to feel the excitement. I hope Yuzu is able to skate, but there are many others I will enjoy too. Now hopefully I can get a reasonably priced plane ticket!

Congrats! Im happy for you! You are going to SC after SA at the weekend in a row! i'm jealous of you!
Further, my friend on GS is from Mississauga. So im interested in the place itself.
i hope you'll have a good time (and take a reasonable airplane ticket!).:hap10:

I’d love to see everyone you listed. I saw Duhamel/Radford and Kavaguti/Smirnov in a show last year. I liked both of them, especially Kavaguti/Smirnov but competitions must be so different. I’ve never been to a serious competition, just WTT. I don’t know if my poor heart can take it.

Oh, he was the little boy in XOI? I remember seeing Moa, but not Haruya. I do remember seeing a boy skating with Tanith but the whole thing was so cheesy I deleted it. I wonder if I have anything left of him on my HDD :hopelessness:

Shun, Haruya and Tatsuya Tsuboi too! He won Triglav Trophy (only 4 boys competing, but still) last season but I can't find a video from it although I watched the livestream.
To me, he looks like a little Boyang Jin. I hope he inherits Boyang's jumps

Kavaguti and Smirnov were wonderful at SA in 2014 and won the gold. The audience loved them. Still remember her tears at the GP Finals where she was injured and he kept trying to comfort her saying "We are a team". Coached by the amazing Tamara Moskvina. Wish we could get TM to come to the US permanently! Hope they do great at SC.

Very excited to go to SC. Toronto is so close, I figured I might as well go. I may be exhausted after being in an arena seat for the previous weekend, but it will be fun. Sure hope injuries don't keep the top skaters out...Not too sure what Mississauga is like, but I guess I will find out.

Oh my goodness! I love Taka's flamenco! Had to remind myself who was the choreographer (Massimo Scali). Wow - nice job. And (except for the cuffs) I like the costume. I think it really works!

Rika's program shows a lot of promise, although I don't like the version of "O Fortuna" they've used...Now I'm really excited to see these guys at SC!!!!

Kazuki's program was only shown for a couple of seconds along with others who got skipped over this time. It looks like a fun program though!

I'll have to see everything over again, but Keiji's program was a nice suprise. He already looks really polished with it.
